Warning About 'Fundamentalist 500' Website
by David J. Stewart | February 2026
Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
For decades I had promoted the “Fundamentalist 500” website, but they have changed for the worse. They are no longer a ranking website. For many years my 'Jesus-is-Savior.com' ministry website was at the very top of their ranking engine.
Unfortunately, people change. Their website now promotes the damnable heresy of false prophets such as Dr. William P. Grady. They are selling his new dangerous book titled, “What Must I Do To Be Saved.” The only “action” which God requires to be saved is to BELIEVE that Jesus did it all for you through Calvary's cross (John 6:28-29).
Dr. Grady implies that turning from some sins is required to be saved. He deceitfully links the sin of covetousness to idolatry to subtly add works to faith. There is only one sin that you need to turn from to get to Heaven, and that sin is UNBELIEF. Dr. Grady heretically writes:
Now when this proper attitude adjustment occurs, sinners will sense a natural change of mind about their individual sin. Before conviction, a lost person basically worships himself, as his or her own “god.” ...
However, once they “see the light,” a change of action will inevitably occur. Paul commended his converts for this shift: “For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God....” (I Thessalonians 1:9) Anyone who says that repentance does not involve turning away from some sin has never read this passage, for how can one turn to God without turning from idolatry? And just for the record, regarding secular, material-minded Americans, Colossians 3:5 specifically defines “covetousness” as “idolatry.”
The consummate evidence that a 'convicted' sinner is finally ready to 'repent' will be an unprecedented disposition to 'do' whatever it takes to appease God's wrath (i.e., because of his or her sin). This great truth is expressed in the very question that the jailer asked—'What must I do to be saved?' The implication here is that he was absolutely willing to 'do' whatever Paul told him. As a person's soul consists of a mind, emotion, and will, the process of repentance will involve all three components. Beginning with a change of mind, a change of emotions will follow, ending with the inevitable change of one's will. In the final analysis, repentance is reduced to nothing more than a tired old sinner raising the white flag of surrender—no longer wanting his or her will—but now desiring nothing but God's will!
The irony in the jailer's question, 'What must I do to be saved?' is that there was absolutely nothing that he had to 'do' (in a technical sense) but simply believe the Gospel. Paul described this surrender of the will as 'the obedience of faith' (Romans 16:26) while conversely labeling the damned as those 'that obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ' (II Thessalonians 1:8).

Dear reader, what you have just read from Dr. Grady is blatant heresy! While teaching that believing the Gospel is all that is “technically” required to get to Heaven, at the same time he deceptively requires that a lost sinner also be willing to make full “surrender” of his will to Christ. I am reminded of these helpful words of truth from Pastor Harry Ironside (1876-1951)...
“WHEN THE REVIVALIST comes promising salvation to those 'who make a full surrender' of all that they have to God, and who 'pay the price of full salvation,' he is preaching another gospel, for the price was paid on Calvary's cross and the work that saves is finished. It was Christ Jesus who made the full surrender, when He yielded Himself unto death for us that we might be redeemed from the curse of the broken law and forever saved from the judgment to come upon all who refuse His grace. ”

Dr. Grady is sneaky. To turn from one's idols is repentance from “DEAD WORKS” (Hebrews 6:1), not repentance from behavioral sins (covetousness is a behavioral sin). It is obvious from reading his book that Pastor Grady is biased in favor of those corrupt preachers today (e.g., Sam Gipp, Peter Ruckman, Keith Gomez) who wickedly teach that to be saved you must turn away from your sinful ways. Evidence of this is that Dr. Grady links idolatry with the sin of being covetous. I mean, why even bring up something like that? Clearly, Mr. Grady has an agenda! This is the fallacy of Lordship Salvation, which cannot produce the required new birth to enter into God's Kingdom. Although it is true that covetousness is a form of idolatry, salvation does not require turning from your love of materialism; it does require that you forsake trusting in any false gods, things or ideas to save you.
Furthermore, read again what Pastor Grady writes:
When a sinner raises that white flag of surrender, he or she is essentially coming clean with theirself—acknowledging that they no longer want to do their thing, but rather God's thing.

That is dangerous talk when speaking about the Gospel. This is the damnable heresy of Lordship Salvation. What in the world does not wanting to DO YOUR OWN THING anymore have to do with receiving God's free gift of eternal life? Do you see what he is doing? Dr. Grady is subtly adding works to grace, requiring that a lost sinner be willing to “surrender all” (aka, Lordship Salvation) to be saved. That is another gospel which cannot produce the new birth. Bible repentance DOESN'T mean to raise a white flag of surrender. That is Bill Grady's perverse theology!
Dr. Grady violates one of the most important principles of Bible interpretation, to never base a doctrine on a single Bible verse. Pastor Curtis Hutson (1934-1995) said it best: “A good rule to follow when interpreting the Bible is to never use an obscure passage to contradict a clear one.” According to John 20:31, the Gospel of John is God's Gospel tract, showing the reader the way of salvation. In the Book of John we find the word “believe” mentioned 85 times, but nowhere does the inspire Scripture mention being willing to surrender your will to obey God's will to be saved. Dr. Grady is preaching the demonic lie of Lordship Salvation, clearly teaching that God won't save you unless you're first “absolutely willing to 'do' whatever” God wants you to do. That is NOT part of the Gospel.
Nowhere does the inspired King James Bible teach that to be saved you must first acquire the attitude of a mature Christian who is desirous to submit everything to fulfill God's will. Grady is plainly implying that you must be willing to turn from all your sinful behavior as a prerequisite to saving faith. His corrupt plan of salvation is confusing and would frustrate any lost sinner who wants to be saved. It greatly bothers me that the website owner of the 'Fundamentalist 500' website is promoting Dr. Grady and his toxic books.
I encourage you to read my full scathing review of Dr. Grady's toxic new book, “What Must I Do To Be Saved?,” which tommyrot has already sold thousands of copies unfortunately. I will never promote the Fundamentalist 500 again, as long as they promote damnable false prophets like William P. Grady! Little by little I am removing their links from my ministry webpages. SHAME on 'The Fundamentalist 500'!
Things are not as they appear dear reader! Please don't be deceived by today's pseudo-fundamentalist ministries. Remember, Bible fundamentalists don't change, people quit being fundamentalists!
“I don't care how long I'm pastor of this church, as long as I stand behind this pulpit or roam this platform, I'll promise you one thing—the old man's going to be looking for gaps in the hedge. And every time I see one, I'm going to stand right there in the gap.” —Pastor Jack Hyles, “There's A Snake In The Hedge”
The Fundamental 500 also promotes corrupt books by false prophet Pastor Tom Hayes, who wickedly emphasizes the importance of repentance as a crucial step toward salvation, highlighting that true repentance involves a sincere turning away from sin and a commitment to follow Christ. These are damnable heresies, not the free grace gift of God which is by faith alone. The only thing that a lost sinner must turn from to be saved is unbelief, to trust in Christ to be saved (John 6:47). Remember, salvation is a gift for the guilty, not a reward for the righteous (Romans 5:6-9).
The great need of the hour is preaching preachers! It is tragic that Satan has successfully crept a works-based toxic plan of salvation into most Baptist churches today, redefining and perverting the biblical meanings of repentance and faith. We are at war today over right doctrine!
Please steer clear of 'The Fundamentalist 500' because they wickedly bid Godspeed to damnable false prophets, and in so doing have become partakers of their evil deeds. 2nd John 1:11, “For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
