Humility Is The Way To Stay Right With God

By David J. Stewart | September 2018

James 4:6-10, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

I was in so much agonizing neck pain all day yesterday that I broke down in uncontrollable tears last night. I felt intense warmth as the blood ran into my head, and the tears flowed, and my sinuses clogged. The throbbing toothache-like chronic neck pain (which I have had now for over 14 years), located by the bony area of the back of my neck, has truly ruined my life. Yet, God has given the perfect ministry to one such as myself, where I can work undisturbed at home. I thank God for making a way for me to serve Him faithfully. Psalms 34:18, “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

Let me ask you a serious question dear reader? Have you ever, at some time in your life, completely opened your heart to God? I have, which is why I am writing this article, hoping you will do the same. I am nothing special, but I know God! I am not perfect, ain't for sure, but I walk with God! Everywhere I look nowadays, I see people going to churches and going through the motions, but something is very wrong with their alleged walk with God.

Kindly, in 2017, the pastor (now moved on to corrupt youth in some deeper-life preacher's cemetery) of the Harvest Baptist Church on Guam advised me to, “Always seek God!” He said this after coldheartedly telling me to “go elsewhere,” when I humbly requested permission three times to attend church services at Harvest. You see, Harvest Baptist Church has become a mere social club, where it's only Us Four And No More! Despite being excellent advice to, “Always seek God!,” I couldn't help but think of the verse from Proverbs 25:19, “Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.” He is an unfaithful pastor! This pastor promotes Dr. John MacArthur, a modern-day John Calvin who is horribly corrupting the Gospel.

Here's a guy telling me to “Always seek God,” who cannot even discern the satanic corruption of the Alexandrian Bible texts! Kindly, Harvest Baptist Church uses, sells and supports the Alexandrian perversions of God's Word! This is because all their pastors and staff members are alumni of Bob Jones University (BJU), a cesspool of apostasy and disregard for the verbal inspiration of God's Word. BJU's Bible department would sinfully lead us to believe that God preserved His words among a diversified assortment of literally hundreds of English Bible versions! Anyone with common sense knows there is something very wrong with that picture, especially when we are talking about an omnipotent God who, “is not the author of confusion” (1st Corinthians 14:33b). 2nd Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” There is no “sound mind” when you have to sort through dozens of Bible versions to find the words of God! Why is is so hard for pastors to see that? Truly, pastors today are blinded by the monotony of the ministry. They have been going through the religious and administrative motions for so long, that they can't see the first for the trees!

Bob Jones University's Contradictory Position On Holy Bible (the ultimate inspiration blocker!)

Despite the many difficult times in my life, cruel hardships, unwanted divorce in 2006, and inexplicable emotional trauma over the past two decades (which almost led me to use the two small barbeques I bought to take my own life), God saw me through somehow by His grace. I was thinking the other day about how blessed I have been by God, that He chose to put my spirit into this body, during this historical time period, into my particular family, and into this great nation of liberty, in a time of unprecedented peace, and a time of amazing technology, without which I would have no ministry. When someday we are all in eternity, there will be THOUSANDS of saints in Heaven, who were saved through my humble labors. But wait, it isn't because I am some great man of God; but rather, the influence of the internet and “the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth” (Romans 1:16).

I sometimes wonder why God gave me this awesome privilege? Perhaps it is because He knew that I would faithfully do it! Why did He put my particular spirit and soul into this tabernacle of the flesh, during this age of technology? Daniel 12:3, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” That is a beautiful promise; to God be the glory, great things He hath done! Dr. Jack Hyles was right, the true measurement of my success in life won't be how many people show up to say goodbye at my funeral; but rather, it will be how many people are waiting to greet me when I get to Heaven! Yes, Amen! Life is all about soulwinning!!! Soulwinning! Soulwinning! Soulwinning!

Awesome Soulwinning Sermons By Pastor Steven L. Anderson (fishing for the souls of men!!!)

As I was lying upon my bed yesterday evening in horrible pain, I cried out to God with a broken heart and told Him how much I love Him, so very much, and I apologized for my messed up life. I told Him how lonely I am, and I begged Him to continue using my humble labors, through this needful internet ministry which He has entrusted to me since 2002, to win souls to Him, and help others in the Lord. I am just a VOICE, like John the Baptist, a nobody! John 3:30, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Too many churches are little more than four walls and a roof. I thank God that I am more than that! I have many faults, but you won't find a man with a truer and purer heart! Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.” As Dr. Gail Riplinger once said, “Always be pure of heart!” She was so right!!!

My favorite preacher and mentor, Pastor Jack Hyles, makes the following helpful comments in his wonderful book called, “Salvation Is More Than Being Saved”...

Now don't misunderstand me. If all God does is save us from the garbage can, He is pleased. He does not want us to go to Hell. He wants us to be saved from sin and born again, but His full desire for us is that once we are saved from the garbage can we be totally recycled so once again we can fulfill the purpose of His creating us.

Because of this, soul winning is far more than we think. We equate soul winning with telling someone how to have his name written in Heaven and how to be saved from Hell and to know he is going to Heaven when he dies. This is soul winning, but it is not all of soul winning. If salvation is more than being saved from Hell, then soul winning is more than leading people to be saved from Hell.

Matthew 28:19, 20, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." You will notice we have both forms of soul winning mentioned here. We have pulling people from the garbage can. We also have "teaching them to observe all things," which means we are also to lead them to be recycled.

John 15:16, "Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you."

Here we are to bear fruit; that is, save them from the garbage can. Our fruit should remain; that is, get them recycled....

There are those who never lead people to Christ. They never snatch anyone from the garbage can. They feet their special calling is to lead them to recycling. This is only half their job and they are not totally obeying the Great Commission or the plan of God. On the other hand, there are those who spend all their time plucking folks from the garbage can and never work to get them recycled. These are not complete soul winners either, for they are only doing half of the Great Commission and leading folks to a salvation that is only a part of what God had in mind in His total plan.

May I ask you, reader, "Are you a soul winner?" Remember that a soul winner is a salvager—one who leads a sinner to choose Christ and one who leads a saint to choose the will of God, the work of God and the plan of God.

One of the beautiful things about my increasingly popular cyberspace ministry is that I am a nobody. I don't hold a position. I'm not a member of a group. I don't have a title. I am just a pauper in spirit. Matthew 5:3, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 5:8, “Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.”

Matthew 5:2-12, “And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying, Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

I say “yesterday,” it just turned midnight on my clock a few moments ago, so I am now 14 minutes into Saturday, September 6th, 2018. Wow, where is the time going? Someone once said that if you want to see time fly, throw a clock! By the way, Guam is 15 hours ahead of Chicago times in the states. It is really weird flying from Guam to Hawaii, which is 20 hours behind Guam. So if I leave Guam at 6 AM on a Saturday morning bound for Honolulu, when I get off the plane 7:55 minutes later in Honolulu, it is 6 PM Friday night there! Wow, that is so neat!

Web visitors sometimes ask me why I post article dates several days out in the future. It's mental thing that helps me. It has something to do with my chronic beck pain.

NOBODY IS LAUGHING IN HELL!!!

Did you know that you don't have to ask Jesus to save you? God has already told you how to be saved, that is, by simply believing that His Son died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and raised up from the dead three days later. Christ raised up from the dead, which means that God the Father accepted His Son's payment for the sins of the world. Christ suffered on the cross so that we wouldn't have to suffer in a literal Hell forever. Amen! You don't have to bow your head to be saved. You don't have to pray. You don't have to do anything except believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and make that your only hope for Heaven!

“If your moral judgment is crooked and rotten, and you have no Bible conviction, when the conscience says, 'Do right!', you may do what your moral judgment said for you to do, and it's wrong! And you don't want to keep your eyes on yourself, because you'll feel inadequate, like a loser and a failure. Keep your eyes on Jesus!)

Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith.

God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved, He will only save those who are trusting to be saved.

Religion is man trying to reach God through human effort, but Christianity is
God trying to reach man by the sacrifice of His only begotten Son on the cross.

Well, you know what brother, you can't take it far enough, when they're pushing all these false versions, and all the bookstores, and the Christian bookstores, and all of your big name preachers are all preaching false versions! You know, we need to stand our ground on this issue!!!” —a quote by Pastor Steven Anderson from the awesome MP3 sermon, “Saved By The Word.”

“Nothing in my future can ever affect the salvation that I have... Once you trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are eternally secure!” —Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?

“Salvation is based upon purely what Jesus Christ has done. And if you've trusted Jesus Christ here, you're saved forever! Nothing in your life, nothing in your death, angels, principalities, nothing—nothing in your future—could ever undo that relationship that has been made when you trusted Jesus Christ as Savior. And there are many people who are confused over this whole thing.”
—Pastor Hank Lindstrom (1940-2008), a quote from the classic MP3 sermon titled, “How Permanent Is Your Salvation?”

“There are many people who name the name of Jesus Christ, who are not saved, because they're trusting in living the Christian life, or in their works, or in some efforts that they're doing, in order to obtain their salvation.”
