Confused Catholic Woman

In one of my webpage articles exposing Roman Catholicism, I make the following statement...

"Over 1,000,000,000 Roman Catholics believe that ONLY Mary and the Roman Catholic
religion can save them!!!"

In November of 2005, I received the following brief e-mail in response to the above statement...

"Over 1,000,000,000 Roman Catholics believe that ONLY Mary and the Roman Catholic
religion can save them!!!

Catechism 169 says 'Salvation comes from God alone.' "

Here's my reply...

Respectfully Amanda,

You quote "Catechism 169" as saying that salvation is only found in God, yet it is abundantly clear that Roman Catholics are taught that the keeping of the Sacraments AND THE ROSARY are mandatory for salvation.  So what you're really saying is that Catholics believe that only God can save them THROUGH baptism, THROUGH Mary, THROUGH holy communion, THROUGH last rights, THROUGH confession, THROUGH confirmation, THROUGH the Rosary,  THROUGH good works, THROUGH the Catholic church, etc, etc, etc.

On the contrary, the Word of God proclaims in simplest terms that ONLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST can a person be saved (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Isaiah 45:22; 2nd Corinthians 11:3; Ephesians 2:8,9; Titus 3:5).

Kind regards,
