My Blood Test Results And Healthy Foods I Bought

I had blood tests requested by my doctor taken last Friday. He printed out this chart today to show me my sugar level since 2015. My doctor drew these images for me. As you can see, in 2015 I was WAY beyond diabetic, I was near death (9.8)! I was actually surprised today that my sugar is still pretty good (6.0), but I need to lose some weight to get it back to normal (below 5.7). My current sugar level is 6.0 on this chart...
When my sugar level was 9.8, I weighed 215 pounds. When my sugar level was 5.2, I weighed 145 pounds. I am now 187 and my sugar is still 6.0, which shows how much that last bit of weight (mostly belly fat) affects one's sugar level.
Here is a chart showing my bad cholesterol level since 2015, which is not good. My doctor said this is what can cause a heart attack. I hit close to normal one month into my crash diet in March of 2017. Literally, my weight went from 215 to 185 pounds in 30 days. I am not exaggerating one bit. Of course, the first 8 pounds was emptying out my stomach. So I lost about 22 pounds in 30 days. Look how it corrected my cholesterol in just one month of fasting. My bad cholesterol increased in June of 2017, even though I had lost an additional 40 pounds. This is very likely because I ate a normal meal the day before my blood test...
I found this article, which explains that high LDL (bad cholesterol) may not be so bad as previously thought. But the article reinforces the age old knowledge that eating more plant foods improves one's health. Sooooo, I went to Cost-U-Less today and bought a bunch of healthy foods...
That whole bag of Grouper fish is only 800 calories. I am not sure if grouper is good, I just grabbed some fish. I really don't know one fish from another. I always eat beef, which is why my cholesterol is so high. Next time, Lord willing, I'll try to Cod or Tilapia. The whole big bag of carrots, cauliflower and broccoli above is only 480 calories. The entire bag! There are four separate bags, and each one is only 120 calories. That is what I had for lunch today, one bag. I went back to buy more! I bought the organic flax seeds at the SDA Pharmacy. They are high in fiber and Omega 3.
So I need to work on my cholesterol and sugar a bit. My doctor said everything else looked normal in my blood. God willing, in the months to come I am going to try to lose some weight. It's hard to stay motivated. I need to permanently change my eating habits, and include a bunch more vegetables. To lose weight and keep it off, you have to constantly think about eating healthy. You need to know how many calories foods contain, and exactly how many per day you are eating. It all comes down to calorie density in the foods you eat. By buying a bunch of low calorie density foods, I can eat much more without gaining weight. Just 3 links of pork sausage is 250 calories!!! That's fattening. I can eat a dozen links in a couple minutes, which is a whopping 1,000 calories! I usually eat one pound of Oscar Meyer bacon in a day, when I cook bacon. That's 800 calories. Or, I can eat 2 whole bags of carrots, cauliflower and broccoli, seasoned with Lawry's (or whatever seasoning you like), which totals only 260 calories. Six bags of vegetables equals one pound of bacon in calories. I still like my bacon, but if I eat the bag of vegetables FIRST, then I won't want as much of the bad stuff.
My problem is that like most Americans I slack off and just eat fast and processed foods, which are super high in calories. I love McDonald's, when it's hot. I rarely eat there though, because it's not healthy. All you have to do to gain weight is to stop caring about your diet. I have never gave up on my diet and intentionally abused my health. I just ate that extra bit to feel good and satisfied each day. Just an extra candy bar a day is 200 calories. In 10 days you've gained one pound. One pound is about 4,000 calories. I can eat a whole pizza in one setting. That's about 1,500 calories. I've been eating turkey breast sandwiches at Subway, on 9-grain honey oat bread, which is very low in calories (if you don't get the river of mayonnaise that they pour on their sandwiches). Good night! I like extra salt and pepper.
Plus, for every 5 pounds that you lose, you have to remove 100 calories from your daily diet. So after I lost 60 true pounds in 2017, I had to remove 1,200 calories from my daily diet in order to maintain 145 pounds. That is like only 1,500 calories a day. It was very difficult for me, after eating 2,700 calories a day for years, to eat like a rabbit. To keep the weight off, intermittent fasting is very helpful. In fact, that is how I lose weight, fasting for 24 hours, and then eating light. Lord willing, I hope to lose some weight again. Some people say to be dogmatic, but I don't want to be depressed if I fail. You have to just get back up and keep at it. One thing I've learned is that you cannot starve yourself to lose weight, but you can get by on 500 calories a day (if you eat low calorie density foods to fill your stomach). That means you'll lose one pound in just 3 days.
Nuts are the worst thing you can eat if you want to lose weight, which are super high in calories. Stay away from peanut butter, oils, breads, pastries, sweets, rice and processed foods. I gave up soda pop in 2017. I love water. It is so easy to gain weight, and so hard to lose it! That is because we are comfortable while gaining weight, but have to be uncomfortable to lose weight. I use music as a motivation to lose weight. I really get into my music when I go walking or driving, but at home I don't listen to music, strangely enough. When I get lonely, a full stomach is like a friend. But that is a deception. Diabetes is the silent killer, the cause of millions of limb amputations, strokes, blindness and premature death. I want to take care of myself. I may get run over by a Dominoes pizza driver, or have a tree fall on me, but at least it won't be my fault. My neck hurts all the time, but I don't want to add to my health afflictions. God is good.
I was looking at ChristianFilipina.com today, which I signed up for already. That may be my only way to find a wife, and perhaps a wise move. Filipina women don't believe in divorce, and they have not been ruined by our rotten American culture of rebellion, abortion, career-minded women, tattoos, military chicks, social brats, covetousness, queerdom and perversion.
