Devil's Bibles Say It Is “Hard” To Be Saved

by David J. Stewart | May 2021

Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!”

Dear friend, if there is one thing that the Holy Bible teaches plainly, it is that getting saved is easy. By “getting saved” I mean that you have been rescued from going to Hell to burn forever for your sins. How is this possible? Only through faith in Jesus Christ! You see, we are all guilty sinners in God's sight (Romans 3:10-23). The Holy Bible teaches that the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Sin is a short word with a long sentence! The wages we earn for sinning is death, including the second death in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 21:8).

But praise be to God for making a way of escape through faith in the  blood of Jesus! Jesus came to save sinners (Luke 19:10). Christ died on the cross for the ungodly (you and me) according to Romans 5:6-9. If you will simply admit that you're a guilty sinner in God's eyes (Romans 3:19-20), and receive Christ's sacrificial death on the cross as full-payment for your sins, believing that He was buried, and bodily resurrected from the dead 72 hours later, you are saved (1st Corinthians 15:1-4). It is that simple!!! This is the “Gospel,” which means “Good News” or “Glad Tidings.” Nothing more is required, nor allowed, to enter into God's Kingdom.

With these simple blessed truths in mind, now let us take a look at how Satan has perverted the modern Bible revisions to complicate getting saved. Here is a comparison of Mark 10:24 between the trustworthy King James Bible (KJB), and some of the DEVIL'S BIBLES...

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) - Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION (ESV) - Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God!

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) - Mark 10:24, “The followers were amazed at what Jesus said. But he said again, “My children, it is very hard to enter God’s kingdom!

NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION (NIV) - Mark 10:24, “The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

HOLMAN CHRISTIAN STANDARD BIBLE (HCSB) - Mark 10:24, “But the disciples were astonished at His words. Again Jesus said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

NEW AMERICAN STANDARD BIBLE (NASB) - Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus responded again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

NEW CENTURY VERSION (NCV) - Mark 10:24, “The followers were amazed at what Jesus said. But he said again, “My children, it is very hard to enter the kingdom of God!

CHRISTIAN STANDARD BIBLE (CSB) - MARK 10:24, “The disciples were astonished at his words. Again Jesus said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

Do you see friend how the Devil's Bibles have deceptively REMOVED the phrase, “THEM THAT TRUST IN RICHES”? That little phrase completely changes the intended meaning, doesn't it. Clearly, words are powerful. Words are the building blocks of sentences and grammar, which convey thoughts and meaning, the basis of our society. By simply redefining the meaning of a handful of words in the Bible, and removing key phrases, the Devil has corrupted the churches.

Sadly, the Devil has redefined the simple word “repent” from it's biblical meaning of “a change of mind” to instead mean “a change of lifestyle.” This one change has caused hundreds of millions of people to die in their sins without being born-again! They all go to Hell. John 3:3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” You get born again by faith alone in Jesus Christ, not by turning away from your sin, nor by proving the genuineness of your faith by turning from sin!

According to The Washington Post, the damnable English Standard Version (which Bob Jones University shamefully uses, sells and promotes), is 1 of 19 Bible versions which has sold more than 1,000,000 copies:

The new Bible is designed to compete with the English Standard Version study Bible, which had 100,000 pre-orders when it first sold in 2008. The “ESV Study Bible,” which retails for about $25 hardback, has since gone on to sell more than 1 million copies. The “ESV Study Bible” is actually only one of 19 Bibles that have sold more 1 million copies in the past decade. The editors behind Zondervan’s new offering are undoubtedly looking for the same sort of sales, and there’s reason to believe they will get them. SOURCE

That is so discouraging and sad! As you saw in the previous comparison of Luke 10:24, the English Standard Version (ESV) gets it horrible WRONG, errantly saying that it is “DIFFICULT” to be saved. Here is the comparison again:

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) - Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

ENGLISH STANDARD VERSION (ESV) - Mark 10:24, “And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God!

Is it DIFFICULT to enter into God's Kingdom as His child? Absolutely not dear friend. Jesus said getting saved is as easy as drinking a cup of water. John 4:13-14, “Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” Simply BELIEVE!

Jesus likened Himself to a piece of bread, which if eaten will give eternal life. John 6:50-51, “This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” Getting saved is as easy as taking a bite from a piece of bread. Simply BELIEVE!

Jesus said that getting saved is as easy as going through a door. John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” What a beautiful Savior! Simply BELIEVE!

Oh dear friend, please don't ever allow anyone inspired by demons to tell you that becoming a child of God is difficult or hard. These modern Bibles are of the Devil! You can and should trust, use and promote ONLY the inspired KING JAMES BIBLE. I have be showing my web visitors examples such as Luke 10:24 for the past 10 years of my online ministry. Think about something if you will. The Bible says there is one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). The Bible says there is one Mediator, Jesus Christ (1st Timothy 2:5). The Bible says there is only one Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:4). So how in the world did we end up with hundreds of English Bible revisions? That is Satan, the author of confusion.

How did we end up with multiple plans of salvation in our churches? Some pastors say you must turn from sin to be saved (e.g., John MacArthur, Steve Pettit, Marty Herron, Gary Walton, Chuck Phelps, Daniel Phelps, Sam Horn). Other preachers says you must “be willing” to turn from sin to be saved (e.g., Jack Chick, David Cloud, Chip Ingram). Still others preachers teach that you don't have to turn from a lifestyle of sin to be saved (e.g., myself, Curtis Hutson, Ralph Yankee Arnold, Ray Stanford, Hank Lindstrom, Harry Ironside, Bob Gray Sr., Jack Hyles, Shelton Smith). Folks, we cannot all be right! Either you must turn from sin, be willing to turn from sin, or you don't have to turn from sin, to enter into God's Kingdom, but it cannot be all of the above. How in the world did we end up with multiple plans of salvation in our churches today? The answer is obvious, it is because of the presence of hundreds of Devil's Bibles, which teach that you must turn from sin to be saved.

Case in point is Mark 1:15 in the Easy-To-Read Version (which the apostate Harvest Baptist Church on Guam shamefully uses). Here's a comparison with the King James Bible:

KING JAMES BIBLE (KJB) — Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. [emphasis added]

EASY-TO-READ VERSION (ERV) — Mark 1:15, “He said, “The right time is now here. God’s kingdom is very near. Change your hearts and lives, and believe the Good News!” [emphasis added]

WICKEDNESS!!! That is wrong, wrong, wrong! Repentance is “a change of mind,” not “a change of heart and life.” You cannot show me anywhere in the Bible that says to “turn from sin” or “repent from sin” to be saved. Acts 20:21 speaks of “repentance toward God,” not from sin. We are saved by BELIEVING, not repenting. Yes, repentance is necessary for salvation, but to “repent” simply means to change your mind so that you will believe the Gospel. Repentance is “the acknowledging of the truth;” (2nd Timothy 2:25b). It is the admission that you are a hopeless guilty sinner, so that you will SEE YOUR NEED and believe the Good News of Christ crucified, buried and risen to be saved.

You don't have to change your own heart and life, as a requirement to be saved. That would constitute “works.” Rather, it is the indwelling Holy Spirit that comes into a person at the time of salvation that changes one's heart and life, over time as they grow in grace, by nurturing on the milk of the Word (1st Peter 2:2).

Respectfully, Pastor Charles Lawson of the Temple Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, also gets repentance wrong. He views repentance as a drastic change of heart that leads to a drastic change of life. This is manmade transformation, not the new birth in which God's Holy Spirit changes a man (aka, the “fruit” of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23).

Dear friend, do you now plainly see why so many millions of churchgoers are being deceived to foolishly think that salvation is DIFFICULT and HARD. False prophet, Dr. John MacArthur, even went as far as to author a damnable book titled: “HARD TO BELIEVE.” Here's a quote from his devil work:

“Don’t believe anyone who says it’s easy to become a Christian. Salvation for sinners cost God His own Son; it cost God’s Son His life, and it’ll cost you the same thing...”

Here again we see a false teacher making God's simple plan of salvation HARD. The Devil is a beautiful liar! I hope I have taught you something by God's grace. I give Jesus the praise and credit for EVERYTHING good ever accomplished through my frail humanity. I pray for God's wisdom daily. I am just a humble broken sinner, a clump of clay with maybe 20 or 25 years left of life, if that. I will be gone soon, and so will you friend. Life is short, Hell is hot, and eternity is a very long time. In fact, there is no time in eternity. Time will end (Revelation 10:6). When the timer runs out, where will you be? The reason why so many people are going to Hell, is because they bought into the Devil's lie that getting saved is HARD. I love these helpful preacher quotes from my favorite hero of the faith, Pastor Jack Hyles (1926-2001):

“More people will die and burn in Hell, because they're trusting too much!”
—Pastor Jack Hyles, a precious quote from the MP3 sermon, “Yea, Yea, And Nay, Nay!

“Everything that's hard and complicated about salvation is God's side of it!”
—Pastor Jack Hyles, a precious quote from the MP3 sermon, “Yea, Yea, And Nay, Nay!

Salvation is easy, free and simple. JESUS PAID IT ALL!!! All you have to do is get out of the way, and by childlike faith let Jesus do the saving, all of it! Hebrews 4:10-11, “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” I love this Bible passage. The believer who RESTS in Jesus has CEASED from his own works. How is it then that Dr. Steve Pettit at Bob Jones University foolishly teaches that to be saved you must continue to faithfully RUN THE RACE? How is it that Evangelist Ray Comfort says that you must LIVE A LIFESTYLE of turning from sins to get to Heaven? Oh dear friend, do you see how these sincere religious men have been deceived by Satan?

The inspired King James Bible says in Luke 10:24 that “THEM THAT TRUST IN RICHES” will have a hard time entering into God's Kingdom, not because salvation is HARD, but because their riches have become a hindrance to them obeying the Gospel. You obey the Gospel by simply BELIEVING ON HIM. John 6:28-29, “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Please do it now friend if you haven't yet. BELIEVE on the only begotten Son of God, the Christ, Who died in your place on the cross of Calvary, and is gloriously risen today!
