Mother Teresa's Futile Search for God

Mother Teresa

The following quote is from a TIME magazine article in August of 2007 titled, MOTHER TERESA'S CRISIS OF FAITH...

And in fact, that appears to be the case. A new, innocuously titled book, Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light (Doubleday), consisting primarily of correspondence between Teresa and her confessors and superiors over a period of 66 years, provides the spiritual counterpoint to a life known mostly through its works. The letters, many of them preserved against her wishes (she had requested that they be destroyed but was overruled by her church), reveal that for the last nearly half-century of her life she felt no presence of God whatsoever — or, as the book's compiler and editor, the Rev. Brian Kolodiejchuk, writes, "neither in her heart or in the Eucharist."

This comes as a startling revelation to hundreds-of-millions of Catholics around the world, who viewed Sister Teresa as the epitome of a woman of faith.  In reality, she had no faith at all.  Listen to what Mother Teresa said...

"Jesus has a very special love for you. As for me, the silence and the emptiness is so great that I look and do not see, listen and do not hear."
— Mother Teresa to the Rev. Michael Van Der Peet, September 1979

There are a few Scriptures that would be relevant to quote at this point...

"And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see..." (John 9:39)

Mother Teresa needed Jesus, but she only had vain religion.  And we read in Matthew 13:15...

"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Mother Teresa said, "I look and do not see, listen and do not hear."  Does not the Word of God address this matter in Matthew 13:15?  Yes, it certainly does.  What you see is mainly dependant on what you're looking for.  Mother Teresa closed her eyes and ears to the truth of God's Word.  Mother Teresa's problem is the exact same problem that all Catholics have today, which is explained in Romans 10:3,4...

"For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth."

The Roman Catholic Church (and the Russian Orthodox Catholic Church as well), have been trying to establish their own righteousness for centuries.  God does NOT accept our self-righteousness, clearly evidenced by Scriptures such as Isaiah 64:6; Titus 3:5, and Ephesians 2:8,9.  Romans 3:20 states... "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."  Mother Teresa spent her life following religion; but she didn't desire the truth of God's Word.  She had churchianity without Christianity, which is true of most religious people today.  Salvation is NOT found in any religion; but rather, in a Person―The Lord Jesus Christ!  "And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:40).  Have you seen the Son of God in the Scriptures?  Have you believed on Him alone, because of the blood He shed for your sins, to save you?

Looking for God in all the wrong places

It is not surprising to me that Sister Teresa couldn't find God's presence in her life for nearly 50-years, because she was looking in all the wrong places.  Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4:24... "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."  You cannot worship God in the lies of false religion.  Mother Teresa was foolishly trying to worship God in the heretical manmade traditions of the Catholic Church.  Jesus plainly stated in Mark 7:9... "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition."  Carefully notice that Jesus didn't say they were bad traditions, He simply identified them as "your tradition."  Even a good tradition becomes bad if it contradicts the teachings of the Bible.  Catholic priests claim that traditions are taught in the Bible; however, if you look closely at the mention of any good "traditions" in the Bible (such as in 2nd Thessalonians 2:15), you'll quickly learn that it is referring solely to the Word of God.  In 2nd Thessalonians 2:15, Paul speaks of the "traditions" found in his Epistle, i.e., God's Word.  The question then is, how do we determine whether a tradition is Biblical, or "your tradition."  The answer is quite obvious.  "Your tradition" means exactly what it says... your tradition.  Clearly, it would have been sinful for the Apostles to fabricate their "own" traditions; thus, and once again, the only good "traditions" are those ordained of God, which are exclusively contained in the Word of God.  The Apostles didn't create their own traditions.

All of Catholicism's traditions are Satanic!  The Vatican is saturated with Satanism.  No wonder Mother Teresa's private life was plagued with misery, doubt, frustration, and loneliness--she never found God to begin with.  Regrettably, Mother Teresa is burning in Hell as I type, because she died in her sins without having a Savior.  Most Catholics with whom I have witnessed the Gospel to, tell me that they are relying upon their own good works, church membership, sacraments, and faith in God to save them.  They all say that they "hope" they've been good enough to go to Heaven.  I can save them the worry, no!  Romans 3:20 tells us that the Law was not given to keep; but rather, so that we might realize our desperate need for a Savior.  Oh! How foolish are Catholics to blindly follow their priests into Hellfire.  To profess faith in God, while trying to merit one's way into Heaven, is a contradiction of terms.  Please read Are We Justified By Faith and Works? for a Biblical understanding of this delicate subject.

Mother Teresa never found God because Catholicism doesn't know God.  Jesus made this clear in John 4:24 when He said that God MUST be worshipped in spirit and truth, not in ceremonialism and manmade religious doctrines.  Jesus made this clear in Matthew 15:8,9... "This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."  Please notice the correlation between WORSHIP and TEACHING.  Jesus said that teaching manmade traditions negates one's worship of God.  It is IMPOSSIBLE to worship the God of the Bible, while following and promoting unbiblical teachings.  Catholics beware!  Mother Teresa's testimony is a striking indictment against the entire religion.  There isn't a woman more revered in Catholicism, besides the Virgin Mary, than Mother Teresa (and now we find out that she didn't even find God in her lifetime).  It just proves that the Word of God is correct, and the Catholic Church is of the Devil.  I mean, when the top religious icon in your organization admits that they've never found God, something is very wrong.

Catholic Priests Haven't Found God Either

The following information is from the July/August 2007 BATTLE CRY newsletter by Jack T. Chick...

In December of last year, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, California, settled 45 cases of sexual abuse by its priests for a total of $40 million. It still faces another 485 sex abuse cases that will likely cost hundreds of millions of dollars. The archdiocese is preparing to sell off some of its estimated $4 billion worth of real estate to pay the claims. (For more information on the vast wealth of the Roman Catholic Church, see chapter 10 of Smokescreens, published by Chick Publications.)

A 2004 report by the U.S. Catholic Church said that 10,667 people have accused 4,392 priests with sexual abuse.  Costs to settle cases currently exceed $1.5 billion with thousands of cases yet pending.
Catholic authorities have largely succeeded in labeling the offending priests as pedophiles. However, most of the victims have not been young children, but boys in their mid to late teens.

For years before the scandal broke in the media, stories would surface from time to time of a homosexual subculture in the Roman Catholic priesthood and seminaries.  A study of the patterns of male homosexual activity indicates that their favored target is the freshness of teen boys.  And they are less likely to be carrying AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Thus it appears that the sexual abuse epidemic in the Catholic priesthood is more about homosexuality than pedophilia.

Jesus said of the Pharisees that they had made the word of God of none effect by their tradition. (See Matt. 15.) This accusation also seems to stick on Roman Catholicism. The word of God stipulates that leadership in the church should be given to men who are “husband of one wife.” The Bible also says that in the last days there would be a spirit of anti-Christ that would forbid marriage. (See 1 Timothy 4.) Thus the popes, also, have made the word of God of none effect by their traditions.

By forbidding their priests to marry, the Vatican has created an impossible environment of temptation for the priests. This virtually shoves them toward homosexual behavior. The prohibition against marriage seems primarily intended to prevent them from having offspring with legal rights to the property of the Catholic church, so they will seek sexual activity that does not produce children.

Most of the evangelical world has accepted the lie that Roman Catholicism is “just another denomination with a different worship tradition.” Although, when cornered, a Roman Catholic will claim they believe the Bible and salvation through the blood of Jesus. But when you look at their rituals and dogma, most of their attention goes to Mary and their “Jesus” is perpetually resacrificed as a wafer god that they eat in their Mass. They are forbidden to believe that they can know that they have eternal life.  These traditions cancel the clear teachings of Scripture making them “of none effect.”

Soul winners, we must not be deceived by those who claim that Roman Catholics are saved and don’t need us to witness to them. These precious souls are in bondage to a prostitute “church,” the whore of Babylon of Revelation 17 and 18. They need to know the freedom of the truth of salvation by faith alone and that they must follow the instruction in Revelation 18:4 to “come out of her…”

Conclusion

The Catholic Church is NO church at all, because they are not a part of the legitimate Body of Christ.  Only saved, blood-washed, born again, redeemed, believers in Jesus Christ are members of the true Church.  You can take a Bible, and show the average Catholic Scriptures all day long, and they simply won't open their eyes.  Mother Teresa said, "I look and do not see, listen and do not hear."  Matthew 13:15 tells us why... "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."  Mother Teresa, as are so many people today, was searching for God apart from the Word of God.  People are flocking by the tens-of-millions to demonic influences such as Oprah Winfrey, James Van Praagh, John Edward, Char Margolis, Dr. Phil, et cetera.  But the same people avoid the Word of God like the plague because of its stand against sin (John 3:20).  It appears that everybody wants to find God these days, but it is not the God of the Bible... "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears" (2nd Timothy 4:3).

Mother Teresa tried to find God in religion, and utterly failed.  She spent her life spreading damnable heresies.  Hebrews 1:1-2 state, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds."  God speaks to us today through Jesus Christ.  John 1:1-3,14 and Revelation 19:13 plainly teach that Jesus Christ is the Word of God.  The Bible is the Written Word, and Jesus is the Living Word.  If you truly want to find God, then you will find Him in the Scriptures.  Is it any wonder why Jesus commanded us in John 5:39 to... SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!  Mother Teresa couldn't find God because she REJECTED the Word of God... "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition."
