The Greedy Pastor Who Stabbed Us In The Back

A so-called "Independent Fundamental Baptist" pastor that we greatly befriended on Chicago's North side, stabbed us in the back after we left the State. He knew of our situation with DCFS. He also knew about my continuous suffering from herniated disks in my neck. He and his wife both lied to us. He had promised to take care of our 5-pets (one dog and 4 cats), during a required 6-month quarantine period before being allowed into Guam.

Originally I had asked the pastor if he knew anyone who'd watch our pets for $1,000 for 7-months. He and his wife said they'd like to do it. We agreed. The pastor said his wife grew up on a farm and was good with animals. The pastor was a former used car salesman, so I asked him if he could sell my van for me and I'd pay him $2,000 instead of the $1,000. I was surprised and saddened when he came back and asked for $2,200 for his time. I knew at this point that he was greedy. I mean, I had offered him an additional $800 to sell my van, but that wasn't enough for him.

So, after talking with my wife, we decided to just give that pastor and his wife the van for his personal use, which we had just spent $4,800 to purchase (we only had the van for 2-months). I had just paid to have a remote starter installed, so the fat pastor could start the van from inside his house to warm-up. I also paid to have a Pioneer MP3/CD-player and new speakers installed in the van. I paid $500 to have a new water pump installed. The van had no dents or scratches, was maroon with tinted windows, working air-conditioning, and had an extended cab. It was the nicest vehicle we had ever owned. We gave it to the pastor and his wife for watching our pets. I signed the title over to him the day we left Illinois. We also gave him and his wife several hundred dollars worth of tools from our home and other household items. We bought them ice cream and cherry pie and brought it to their home. We bought them Uno's pizza and brought it to their home, giving them our deep crust pizza pan. We sent them a gift package from Guam with many items and encouraging words.

They stabbed us in the back because the pastor's ego got the best of him when I didn't respond to an e-mail, and he went nuts, decided to hurt us. I had sent him a letter which I thought was sufficient; but he acted like a little spoiled brat who was angry that he didn't get an e-mail. There are some rotten people that have no business being in the ministry and this guy is one of them. No wonder apostasy is everywhere nowadays... "For the pastors are become brutish [crazy], and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered" (Jeremiah 10:21). Woe unto that pastor and his wife!

He said he would have watched our pets for nothing; but lied through his teeth. In the end, that lying pastor cost us $8,500 because he reneged on a promise he had personally made to us in his living room. His wife is just as rotten as he is. I call them Ananias and Sapphira, because they're greedy and liars. We paid a Chicago lawyer $300 to sent him and his wife a letter, reminding them that they had been "generously compensated" for watching our animals.

Well, the jerk disregarded the letter and gave our cats away to an animal shelter. Fortunately we had paid to have microchips implanted into the animals (required by Guam's import law), so they were retrieved by scanner. The pastor and his wife kept the van, and it cost us an additional $3,200 for a veterinarian to recover and house the cats. The pastor told the animal control officer that gave my wife's dog away to a stranger. I personally think he hurt the dog. He might as well have killed my wife. She loved that dog. She cried so much. We couldn't retrieve the dog, a Shiatsu. Even worse, I ended up paying $200 in parking tickets for that pastor, because he parked illegally months after we had left Chicago. He had promised to destroy the license plates; but lied about that too. The man is evil. So while the State of Illinois stabbed us in the heart, our so-called "pastor" stabbed us in the back. God will avenge us...
