Newspaper Interview

By David J. Stewart | October 2007

I recently received a request for an interview, from a Staff Reporter at the Holly Springs Sun in Raleigh, North Carolina.  I was grateful to participate.  I thought I would share the questions and my answers with my web visitors:

Hello Sarah...

Thank you for the interview.  Here's the answers to your questions:

Question: What brought you to the epiphany that Jesus Christ was your savior?

Answer: My faith is based upon the promises of the Bible, God's Word.  1st John 4:14 in the Word of God states... "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world."  And again in John 1:12,13 we read... "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  I received Jesus Christ by faith, as my personal Savior at age 12.  I am now 40.  Jesus becomes more precious to me every day.  He forgave my sins, wrote my name in Heaven, and gave me eternal life.  He's been with me through thick and thin.  When others forsook me, the Lord was still here.  There is no dearer nor closer a friend to me than Jesus Christ.

Question: How do you think your website is influencing others?

Answer: I rejoice frequently from the many letters I receive from people, who have found the Lord through my ministry, or have renewed their faith in God.  I think the greatest complement I have ever received was from a man who said, "Thank you for allowing the Lord to do all this through you."  You see, God doesn't want to help us live the Christian life, He wants to live the Christian life through us, as we yield to His Holy Spirit.  I am so thankful that God is helping others through my humble efforts.

It's been said that the same sun which hardens the clay melts the wax.  Many people who visit my website go away frustrated and angry, which is to be expected when you preach the truth.  In John 8:45 Jesus said... "And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not."  Jesus plainly stated that the servant is not greater than his Lord.  If they crucified Jesus, so will they persecute Christ's followers.  2nd Timothy 3:12 states... "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."  We all need to wake up to the truth at some time in our life.  The truth always prompts people to either change or get angry.  I published this website for the one person out of a hundred who is seeking the truth.  By God's grace many are being reached for the Lord.  Only God knows the impact which this ministry is having around the world.  My goal is not to see how many people I can reach, but to get the truth out.  My main focus is the content on my website.

Question: How did you decide you wanted to write a howtogotoheaven website?

Answer: The most important decision we'll ever make is whether to believe on Jesus Christ as our Savior, or to reject Him.  2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9 warns... "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power."  Obeying the Gospel is of the utmost importance, and is not optional if a person wants to go to Heaven.  Hence, the primary purpose of my website is to present the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who shed His precious blood for our sins, and offers the free gift of eternal life to anyone who will place their faith solely in Christ for salvation.

Question: Do you have any tips for up-coming Christians?

Answer: Be true to the Word of God.  Romans 3:4 tells us, "...let God be true, but every man a liar..."  Follow the Word of God; not men.  Go against the grain.  Be an individual.  Be yourself.  If we are to change the future, we must disturb the present.  So many believers today are following today's apostate, milquetoast, compromised preachers.  America's greatest need today is preaching preachers.  We rarely hear preaching anymore about sin, righteousness, and judgment.  It was Evangelist Billy Sunday who said, "It would be a godsend if the Church would suffer persecution today; she hasn't suffered it for hundreds of years. She is growing rich and lagging behind. Going back."  America is crying out for Christians once again who will take a stand for what is right, contend for the faith, go soulwinning, and make some noise for God.  The truth has never been popular, but if Christians don't defend the truth, who will?  If not here, where?  If not now, when?  If not us, who?  There is something we can all do for God.

Kindest regards,

David J. Stewart
