Help for the Homeless
James 2:5, “Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?” (King James Bible)Hello friend! This little gift package is being presented to you in the precious name of JESUS CHRIST.
We are a group of local Christians who have gathered together for the purpose of reaching out to the needy. Our goals are to provide some of your basic necessities that you may have and secondly, to present the good news of Jesus Christ to you. It is our heart's desire that you will enjoy these gifts and most of all, receive God's free gift of salvation if you have never done so.
We appreciate you taking just a moment of your time to read this flyer. Arguably, the most important thing in life is to KNOW where one is going to spend eternity. The Bible, God's Word, teaches that we can know where we will spend eternity. Although there are thousands of religions in the world, the Bible teaches that NONE of them can take a person to Heaven. Salvation is not found in a religion; but in a Person—The Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches us plain and simple how to be saved. We are the Sinners and Jesus is the Savior. It is not what we do that gets us to Heaven; but rather, where we are looking. “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” (Isaiah 45:22). Romans 3:23 tells us, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” We are all guilty of being sinners. The penalty for that sin is death and eternal separation from God in the lake of Fire. 2nd Thessalonians 1:8-9, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”
Contrary to popular thought, everybody DOESN'T go to Heaven. The Bible firmly warns that all Christ-rejecters go to Hell (a literal place of fire and torment). Many people say that Hell is here on this earth. Although there is much suffering in the world, this world is not the Hell spoken of in the Scriptures. God loves every person, even the worst of sinners. God doesn't approve of their sin, but He sent His Son Jesus to pay for everyone's sins. Matthew 6:33 states, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” The Bible tells us that we need HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. i.e., the righteousness of Jesus Christ to be saved. All we need to have eternal life is to acknowledge our guilt of sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive our sins. It's that simple.
