Harry Potter and Sexual Immorality

From the moment Harry Potter first reared his ugly head, God-fearing Christians knew that it was likely going to be more than just a movie. It became a series of movies with a cult-like following. The response from society was overwhelmingly in support of the little witchcraft-wielding sorcerer. Hundreds-of-millions of young people around the world are now devout followers of the Harry Potter phenomena, which makes it extremely dangerous spiritually.

While multiple movie sequels of Harry Potter have praised Satanic occultism, sinfully teaching the craft of witches, one question has always loomed in the mind of caring Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ and hate the evils of witchcraft . . . where is Harry Potter leading children? The most recent Harry Potter production, HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE appears to answer the question.

Early in the movie, Harry Potter (played by Daniel Radcliffe) is filmed asking an attractive African girl (Elarica Gallagher) if she'll go out with him after work that night at 11 p.m. Dumbledore then arrives and takes Harry Potter on a quest to see something, thus ruining Harry's date. Dumbledore later tells Potter that he apologies for denying him a night of pleasure. The entire spirit of the scene implies sexual immorality (fornication). This has become the prevalent sinful attitude of the world today, i.e., that it's acceptable to have sex outside of a marriage commitment for the mere sake of sexual gratification. It is wickedness. Harry Potter sends a wrong message to children. Why is there mild sensual content in a series targeted towards children in the first place? There is no talk of marriage or making a lifetime commitment in Harry Potter, Hogwart's students are simply wanting to have sex.

It is sad that people need to sexualize everything. It is evil. At another scene in the Harry Potter movie, Ron Weasley is filmed in a passionate kissing scene with actress Jessie Cave. They search for a hiding place in the castle to become intimate. Towards the end of the film, Harry Potter himself engages in a passionate sensual kiss with actor Cho Chang (Katie Leung). Is this the type of garbage that children ought to be seeing? All of the first Harry Potter movies were rated-G, but the last couple have been rated-PG because of their violent and now sensual content. The latest in the series, HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE, warns parents of mild sensuality in the movie. What's the use of providing a warning? This clearly shows where the Harry Potter series is leading children... into a lifestyle of fornication and sexual immorality. It all begins with the mindset that sex is permissible outside the bounds of holy matrimony.

Christian parents must reprimand and expose the Harry Potter series for the evil witchcraft that it is. It shouldn't come as a surprise that in a wayward generation of baby-killers, homosexuals, strippers and adulterers that society as a whole has also embraced witchcraft. Witchcraft is a horrible sin that brings the judgment of God. Teenagers need to beware of the Harry Potter series, because it is a vehicle of demonism that leads young people away from God.

The message being taught to children from the latest Harry Potter movie is blatantly clear, i.e., that pre-marital sex is acceptable. The Bible calls it the sin of fornication. 1st Corinthians 6:18 and 7:2, “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body ... Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.” Fornication is against God's Law; It is a sin.

Certainly, Harry Potter is not considered hardcore porn, but to DELIBERATELY lead young people into thoughts of lust, sensuality and becoming sexually intimate outside of a marriage commitment is a big step in the wrong direction. Porn Runs The World

This world is rife with moral decay. Doubters need only look to the evening news or the vacant church pews for confirmation. That and the fact that the porn industry utterly dominates our society.

Think we’re exaggerating? We’ve got the numbers to back it up. As big as you think porn is, it’s bigger, and its influence on modern society is deeper.

Porn — Hollywood

“Hollywood cranks out around 500 movies a year to an international audience of 2.8 billion. Its closest competitor, India’s Bollywood, makes about 1,000 movies a year, but 50 percent aren’t released and 95 percent of those released are financial flops. This is unfortunate considering every Bollywood clip we’ve ever seen has been absolutely amazing.

In 2008, The Dark Knight alone grossed $533 million domestically and over $1 billion internationally, certifying it in the top five highest grossing films of all time and a crown jewel in the Hollywood empire. It’s just further evidence that the institution of Hollywood cannot possibly be bested in any way, and certainly not by the data in the following paragraph.

As early as 2002, about 11,000 adult movies were released per year–more than 20 times the mainstream movie production. To meet current demand, a new pornographic video is being created every 39 minutes in the U.S.

In 2005, there were approximately 425 films released in Hollywood, including a Star Wars prequel and a Harry Potter movie, with domestic grosses of $8.597 billion. That’s very impressive. In 2006, the cumulative grosses for porn videos in the U.S., leveraging video sales, rentals, mobile phone content and Internet revenues–came out to….

$8.65 billion.

About the same, and that’s minus the billions Hollywood spends on promotion. Oh, and we’re going to take a wild guess and say that the combined budgets of every porno shot that year wouldn’t even pay for the CGI in the opening credits of a Harry Potter movie. So, yeah, we’re thinking that $8.65 billion is pretty much all profit”.

Porn — Pretty Much Everything

Remember at the beginning when we said as big as you think porn is, it’s actually bigger? We meant it.

Microsoft, purveyor of the operating system used on most of the computers in the world, reported 2008 profits in excess of $16 billion. ExxonMobil, the world’s largest publicly traded company and number five on Forbes’ top 2000 companies, posted 2008 profits of $40.6 billion. Though there is little in common with their industries, they do share one common bond: porn revenues spank them both.

In 2006, the sum of international revenues from pornographic videos, sexual novelties, magazines, “dance” clubs, pay-per-view and Internet was approximately $97 billion.

Can you even wrap your mind around that number? Try it this way: that’s larger than the combined annual revenues of the NFL, NBA and Major League Baseball.

Still not impressed? Well, our domestic revenues for pornography are larger than the revenues of Microsoft, Google, Amazon, eBay, Yahoo!, Apple, Netflix and EarthLink combined.

This means $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography internationally every second. To put that in perspective, when ExxonMobil posted a quarterly profit of $11.7 billion last year, the largest in American history, they were effectively making $1,947 less per second than the world of filth mongers.

When you start talking about money this big it’s not even fair to compare individual companies, so we just made the jump to entire countries. If you compare porn revenues to Gross Domestic Product, the market value of all final goods and services from a nation in a given year, it is bigger than Morocco.”

Making money is one thing, but making money by preying off of people and causing them immense pain and strife is quite another. Don’t think porn is negatively affecting our world? Keep reading.

Instead of teaching children fidelity in a marriage relationship, Hollywood is teaching them to become whores and whoremongers, i.e., that it's ok to have sex with as many partners you so choose just as long as you're not married. I'm not judging the man, not at all, but Gene Simmons publicly brags about having committed adultery with thousands of women. Yet, he is honored and praised by American society. Even though it's been decades, people still haven't stopped condemning Jimmy Swaggart. A Rock 'N' Roll celebrity can fornicate with hundreds of women (groupies as their commonly called) and society is ok with that; but just let a preacher fall one time into sin and he's labeled as the scum of the earth for life. Things haven't changed much in 2,000 years. The Jews cried out for Barabbas (a murderer) to be released; but demanded that the holy Son of God be crucified to death. The world loves sinners; but hates Christians who love God.

This newly discovered fact certainly makes one wonder if this is the entire reason why Miss Watson was chosen for the role in Harry Potter. Will she one day lead a campaign of sympathy and re-empowerment for witches?

The Word of God groups witchcraft together with the sins of hatred, adultery, envy, idolatry, drunkenness, false doctrines and murder...

God hates witchcraft and so should we. God also hates every other sin. There is much joking on TV and in the newsmedia these days about homosexuality and other sins. The purpose of such jesting is to DESENSITIZE society to the horribleness of these sins. The more that Late Night Shows, television programs and the newsmedia joke about sin, the less offensive sin becomes to society, and those sins eventually become commonplace and accepted. In sharp contrast, the Bible raises awareness to the awfulness of sin, which is why It was banned from public school curriculum in 1963.

Thankfully, God doesn't change (Malachi 3:6), and His Word never changes (Matthew 5:18). God hates and disapproves of sin just as much today as He did when He destroyed the world by flood in Noah's day. God has been longsuffering and patient (2nd Peter 3:9), while men continue to rebel against His holy Word and disobey the Gospel. God's patience will eventually cease and the wicked will be humbled and brought low in judgment. All sinners who refuse to obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ will be punished with flaming fire in Hell for all eternity (2nd Thessalonians 1:8,9).

Harry Potter is of the Devil and he's leading young people into perdition. The amount of influence that the Harry Potter series has upon the world's youth today is massive and tragic. Hundreds-of-millions of children and teenagers hinge upon every word spoken, every implication made and every sin glorified by Harry Potter. Only God knows where J.K. Rowling and the evil movie producers are planning to lead Harry Potter followers next. One thing is certain, there is far too much power at their command for Satan not to use it for his purpose—which is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10). Harry Potter is growing older and so are his followers, who idolize him and his immoral lifestyle. As a Christian, it's obvious that the stage is being set for the coming man of sin, the Antichrist. Harry Potter is continually referred to throughout the latest film as “the chosen one.” Will Harry Potter have a role?
