Contemporary Bloodless Theology

By David J. Stewart | July 2010

1st Peter 1:18-19, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

The most important doctrine in the Bible is the blood of Jesus Christ. From Genesis to Revelation the Bible proclaims the precious blood of Jesus, which washes away our sins!

God deliver us from the apostate theology of our day that ignores and denies the importance and necessity of the literal, physical, precious blood of Jesus Christ! Amen!

When Adam and Eve sinned, they attempted to cloth themselves in self-righteousness with garments made from fig-leaves. God rejected their own attempts to deal with their sins; God instead killed an innocent animal, shedding its blood to provide garments for Adam and Eve. That animal symbolized the innocent Savior, whose blood was shed to pay for our sins.

Cain made the same error as his parents, trying to impress God in his own self-righteousness. And God rejected Cain's grain offering. But God accepted Abel's animal sacrifice. The shed blood of that innocent animal evidenced Abel's faith in the coming Lamb of God. From the beginning of humanity, God has shown repeatedly that it is the blood of Jesus Christ that saves a sinner, and nothing else!

The final plague upon Egypt was to be the death of all the firstborn of humans and animals. But God made a way of escape! Anyone who killed a male lamb, without spot nor blemish, and APPLIED THE BLOOD of that lamb to the doorposts of the home, the firstborn would be saved. Exodus 12:13, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and WHEN I SEE THE BLOOD, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.” Again, we see that God required a blood sacrifice. The killing of the animal WASN'T enough. The literal, physical, blood had to be applied! An understanding of the importance of the blood being applied is so critically important to one's understanding of the Bible, theology and salvation!

Tragically, most Bible colleges, churches and preachers seminaries (cemeteries) avoid the subject of the blood of Jesus, because it isn't politically correct, has a cultish sound to it or doesn't fit into their refined culture. Nothing has ruined America's churches more than culture—with their orchestras, overhead projection screens, businesslike atmosphere, chandeliers, plush carpeting, and lame preaching. Some pastors have even denied the efficacy (power) of Jesus' blood to wash away our sins.

Dr. John MacArthur and Moody Bible Institute Deny the Blood

John MacArthur is one such sinister minister who openly denies the saving power of Jesus' literal, physical, precious blood. John MacArthur is an unsaved Modernist who tramples underfoot the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:29, “Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”

Do you know what unholy means? It means not holy; not sacred. MacArthur teaches that Jesus' blood just soaked into the ground at Calvary and has no saving power by itself. He says that the pouring out of the blood is all that matters, and not the blood itself. MacArthur teaches that when Jesus entered into the heavenly Holy Place that He didn't bring any blood with Him. But the Bible calls MacArthur a big liar. Hebrews 9:12 reads, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”

Sadly, Moody Bible Institute honors John MacArthur, who speaks at their annual Founder's Week. To no surprise, I couldn't find the word “blood” mentioned at all in their doctrinal statements. If it's there, there sure did a good job hiding it. The precious blood of Jesus ought to be a major theme in every ministry. It certainly should be stated boldly, clearly and without apology in one's Statement of Faith. Here is Moody Bible Institute's Statement of Faith as of June 2017. Please notice that no mention is made about the precious blood of Jesus, nor the King James Bible...

Sadly, the following webpage brags about a handful of Moody authors who have received awards for their “Christian fiction” . . .

http://www.ecpa.org/news/338472/FINALISTS-ANNOUNCED-FOR-2017-CHRISTIAN-BOOK-AWARDS.htm

Isn't that something? They won't talk about the precious blood of Jesus. That's not important to them. But they'll make up “Christian fiction” for people to read. No wonder America is going to Hell in a hand-basket!!! We don't need fiction, we need TRUTH!

We don't need any NEW methods, or NEW doctrines, or NEW Christian fiction to read; we need the OLD precious King James Bible!!! Give me the OLD Book! You can have contemporary apostate theology that leaves off the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ! You can keep the modern decadent religious crowd who deny the importance of the blood of Jesus! You can have John MacArthur's apostate teachings that spit on the blood of Jesus!

All throughout the Scriptures we are told about the importance of Jesus' literal, physical, blood sacrifice. Just as the Old Testament high priest was required to bring the lamb's blood into the holy of holies; so did Jesus bring His blood into Heaven to apply to the Mercy Seat. That's why Jesus said to Mary Magdalene in John 20:17, “Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.” Jesus did this in Hebrews 9:12,24.

Let the truth be told . . . we are saved by Jesus' literal, physical, precious blood!!!

Revelation 1:5, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.”

“When the last helper has fainted, the last cure has failed, faith's last leaf has withered and your last friend has faltered, there is a God in Heaven Who answers prayer Who will care for you and provide for your needs.”
