The Days Of Noah
by David J. Stewart
Matthew 24:37-39, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Jesus said that in the End Times people would become once again as they were in the days of Noah. Matthew 24:37-39 prophecies...
Matthew 24:37-39, “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”
Carefully notice that the Bible doesn't list a bunch of sins in the days of Noah (although we know that the world had become filled with evil, and will once again according to 2nd Timothy 3:1-5). The Bible simply says that the people had become selfish, living solely to eat, drink and marry. Enjoying life had become an end instead of a means to an end. Instead of eating to live, they were living to eat.
Certainly, we are approaching these times in the world today, when men's gods are their belly as Philippians 3:18-21 says...
Philippians 3:18-21, “(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”
Notice the phrase “who mind earthly things” in Verse 19, which is what Jesus is saying in Matthew 24:37-39 also. People only care about what's good for them. So many people today are cold and calloused, only thinking about themselves. It is unnatural what we are seeing in America today, where no one cares about their neighbor, and there is a spirit of uncertainty and distrust everywhere we go. It didn't used to be like this... neighbor spying on neighbor, everyone holding a cellphone to their ear, turning others into 911 for everything, and everyone is suspicious of each other.
If you slap your child at the store, someone dials 911 and CPS with the police storm the place. If a man accidentally walks into a woman's bathroom, someone dials 911. If you forget to pay for a $5 sandwich at the store, the manager calls 911 and CPS takes your child while you go to jail. A refrigerator repair man turns a customer into authorities for having a gun in the home. If an elderly woman doesn't water her front lawn, a neighbor calls 911 and she arrested. A father is shot to death in his own living room by police over a joint of marijuana. A returning marine is shot to death 61-times in his own home by police over a trifle matter. These are actual cases and there are hundreds-of-thousands more. America has gone insane!!!
Christ Is Coming Back To Punish The Jews And The World
The word “coming” in Matthew 24:39 means the following...
"From the present participle of G3918; a being near, that is, advent (often, return; specifically of Christ to punish Jerusalem, or finally the wicked); (by implication) physical aspect: - coming, presence."
There is no English word to convey the deeper, full, meaning. By the way...
I love the Greek language. The King James Bible is like C++ (a mid-level programming language), and the Greek is like binary (all ones and zeros). C++ is more powerful as compared to Visual Basic (a higher level programming language), but not anywhere near as powerful as binary machine code (the absolute programming language). If you don't know anything about computer programming, then you won't understand what I just said, but that's ok. What I'm saying is that the Greek language is much more powerful for communicating than the English language. It's not a coincidence that God originally gave us His Words in Hebrew and Koine Greek (used by Alexander the Great in military applications).
We read the word “coming” and think it simply means that Jesus is coming back, but the Greek word is much more meaningful and actually means that Jesus is coming back “to punish the wicked.” That's what this particular Greek word parousia means. So the Bible is telling us in Matthew 24:37-39 that the Lord is coming back TO PUNISH THE WICKED, particularly beginning with the Jews, and it's going to happen when everyone least expects it, while they are all selfishly living it up eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage. The Greek meaning of the phrase “giving in marriage” refers to a father giving his daughter away in marriage.
I believe that Matthew 24:37-39 speak of the Rapture and the 7-year Tribulation period to follow, when God pours out His wrath upon the earth during the last 3 1/2 years, known as the Great Tribulation. The devastation of God's wrath will be so horrifying that the world will never have known such pain, sorrow and hardships. Men's hearts will fail them for fear because of the horrifying creatures, plagues and things they will see. There will be 100 pound hail, earthquakes that will destroy the cities of the earth, an asteroid which will poison the oceans, global forest fires, famines and pestilences... BILLIONS WILL DIE as a direct result of God's divine judgment upon the wicked.
Meanwhile the saved who were Raptured will be enjoying the Marriage Supper Of The Lamb, immediately following the Judgment Seat Of Christ after the Rapture. Judgment, then the supper.
The Mystery Of 2nd Thessalonians 2:3
2nd Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” There is much debate concerning the meaning of the phrase “a falling away.” The Greek word is apostasia, which I think clearly means what it means, “a defection from truth.” I have read quite a few Bible commentaries by fundamentalist scholars who teach that this phrase refers to the Rapture. After years of debating in my own mind concerning the literal meaning, I am contended with the falling away from truth meaning. This is what the Greek means.
Having said that, I believe that 2nd Thessalonians 2:7 is speaking about the Church. I cannot means the Holy Spirit, for the Spirit will be here working in the hearts and minds of men and women during the Tribulation, and many will be won to Jesus Christ via the witness of the 144,000, and the two witnesses (Revelation 11:3), and from those saved in the Tribulation who will also witness the gospel. 2nd Thessalonians 2:7, “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” I am convinced that the “mystery of iniquity” is the New World Order and the occult Zionist powers behind it.
The word “letteth” means “to hold down, or hold fast” and the word “way” means “'middle'; from which the word 'midst' also comes.” So whoever or whatever “he” refers to, it is holding down the mystery of Iniquity, preventing the Antichrist from going public. 2nd Thessalonaisn 2:8, “And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming.” I believe “he” refers to the influence of the Holy Spirit through His Church in the world. Once the saints are Raptured (and thus the New Testament Church removed from the world), then the Antichrist will be revealed. There is no other logical interpretation.
Sometimes the process of elimination is the only way to find the correct meaning of a Scripture passage. The Holy Spirit will not be taken out of the world, because men cannot be saved unless they are drawn by the Spirit of God to the gospel (John 6:65; John 16:8-10). It is also obvious that the Church today is a major thorn in the New World Order's plans. Christians fight them every step of the way. If the Antichrist came today, he'd be exposed by sundown and Christians near and far would warn the world. For the Antichrist to succeed, the saints will need to be removed from the world.
The first 3 1/2 years of the Tribulation will be a somewhat peaceful time as the Antichrist ascends to power, charming the world with his worldly wisdom and charisma (much like Barack Obama did during his run for U.S. President. School children were eerily singing, Obama Be Thy Name!
I believe Mr. Obama's campaign was a beta test to demonstrate to fellow members of the elite how easily the Antichrist will rise to power in the world. Henry Kissinger held back the tears as Barack Obama presided over an assembly of the United Nations, which a U.S. President is never supposed to do. No doubt, Kissinger, as the rest of the globalist elite, are eagerly awaiting the Antichrist's appearance and ascent to power, THE MAN OF SIN! It is believed by some that the Antichrist will be born on December 21, 2012. Others think he is already alive. The Bible does not say.
We do know that the identity of the Antichrist will not be revealed until the Church is taken (Raptured) out of the world (2nd Thessalonians 2:4). 2nd Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”
Only Eight People Survived The Flood
One thought that intrigues me is that only 8-people got on the ark and were saved from the flood. Jesus said that the end times would be as it was in the time of Noah. Hence, I don't believe many people will be Raptured. If only eight people survived the flood, then why should we believe that it will be any different when the Rapture occurs. All of the films, paintings and sermons that I've heard describe the Rapture as millions of people suddenly vanishing. Truthfully, I think it will only be a few, so few that the newsmedia won't consider it a worldwide calamity as most think.
Furthermore, if you consider that no Catholics, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Lutherans, Church of Christ, Scientologists, Christian Science, Church of England, Judaizers, Muslims, Seventh Day Adventists, Hindus, Buddhists, Baha'i faith nor followers of Kabbala will be Raptured (because none of them are saved), then it's not hard to image that the world won't even notice when the Raptured has happened. I sincerely don't think many people will be saved at the time of the Rapture, just as in the days of Noah like Jesus prophesized.
With all the corrupt Bibles and false teachings of Lordship Salvation entering the church, and ministers denying the Godhead, and works salvation being taught in once evangelical circles, it's not hard to envision a Rapture of less than a few hundred people in the decades to come. There is a wicked generation coming up that will be the epitome of 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 and Matthew 24:37-39. I'll be glad to go onto Heaven and leave this wicked world behind/ You can have it all. I'm setting my mind on things above, where Christ sitteth on the right-hand of the Father (Colossians 3:1-3; Romans 8:34).
Let us redeem the time, for the days are EVIL. Ephesians 5:16, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” I love the Bible, it has so many heart grasping and helpful truths. Everywhere I look today, just as Paul saw in his time, the days are evil. 1st John 5:19 tells us that the world has always been wicked, whether just a few people when Cain murdered Abel, or a world of 6,700,000,000 people today. Evil abounds in this fleshly world of sin. The world is filled with professed wise men that are fools in their folly without the truth of God's Word. Each and every day brings us one day closer to death and eternity. Are you ready to meet your Maker?
Revelation 13:4, “And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast?”
