Matthew 6:19-20, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
I heard Pastor Jack Hyles say in his classic sermon called: “The
Disease Of Ahab-itis” that as he grows older, he runs to the Word of God
as a starving man! I feel exactly the same! Brother Hyles was age 69 in 1996
when he preached this practical sermon. He went to Heaven at age 74 in
February of 2001. Folks, what Pastor Hyles said is priceless! Psalms
119:32, “I will run the way of thy commandments,
when thou shalt enlarge my heart.” Proverb 18:10, “The name of the LORD is a
strong tower: the righteous runneth into it,
and is safe.” When my heart hurts and I feel lonely, sad and overwhelmed
with life, I RUN TO THE KING JAMES BIBLE!!!
Jesus commanded His disciples in Matthew 6:19-20 to LAY UP FOR YOURSELVES TREASURES IN HEAVEN. 1st Corinthians 3:6-9, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.” God knows that I work day and night on my ministry, answering e-mails, praying and doing all that I can to make an eternal difference for God. Now if I can humbly find a woman to marry, who believes in my ministry, seeing the greatness of what God is accomplishing through my labors.
To know that your name is written in the Lamb's Book Of Life is priceless! To know that you are a 100% born-again, redeemed, saved, Heaven-bound, child of God is absolutely priceless! The world has NOTHING to offer that can even compare to the eternal riches available in Jesus Christ. According to the Pew Research Center, one in five young people in the U.S make achieving wealth a TOP PRIORITY in life. Folks, do you understand this represents about 65,000,000 Americans?[1] ...
Wealth holds a great attraction for the young, this survey finds. Fully 20% of all adults under age 30 say being wealthy is a top priority — easily the largest proportion of any age group. Another 42% say it’s at least somewhat important to them. But the dream apparently diminishes with age. Only about 14% of adults between the ages of 30 and 49 place a high premium on being wealthy. And by the time adults reach their 50s, just one-in-ten place a similarly high priority on riches.

That is shocking! Think about
it—65,000,000 young Americans make acquiring wealth their TOP PRIORITY in
life! What saith the Scripture? 1st Corinthians 10:24, “Let no man seek
his own, but every man another's wealth.” What saith the Scripture?
Ephesians 2:12, “That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from
the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:”
Oh, I am thankful to be a Christian! That last part of the Bible verse in
Ephesians 2:12 is heartbreaking—HAVING NO HOPE, AND WITHOUT GOD IN THE
WORLD!!! I am so glad that I KNOW I am saved and secure in my salvation!
THANK YOU LORD!!! I KNOW 100%, without a single doubt, that I am going to
Heaven. How do I know that? I know that because I have GOD'S PROMISE
of eternal life through faith in His only begotten Son. Titus 1:2, “In
hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot
lie, promised before the world began;” I
don't HOPE for eternal life, I HAVE A HOPE of eternal life! Salvation is not
based upon my earthly performance as a Christian; but rather, it is based
upon my obedience to the Gospel by BELIEVING it!
The Wondrous Riches of God
It is true that THE GREATEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE NOT THINGS! Most people fail to see the true RICHES of God...
Romans 2:4, “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”
God
has been incredibly patient, good, forbearing and longsuffering toward
America, in lieu of our nation's wickedness (e.g., legalized abortion,
legalized same-sex marriage, legalized bestiality in the military, legalized
prostitution in Nevada, legalized theft by the Federal Reserve Banks, et
cetera). The Bible calls God's tolerance “RICHES”! We sure are fortunate as
Americans that God has bestowed THE RICHES of His mercy and longsuffering
toward us-ward. 2nd Peter 3:9, The Lord is not slack concerning his
promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering
to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all
should come to repentance.”
Another form of “RICHES” is God's WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE...
Romans 11:33, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”
Our nation's 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), admirably said:
“I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated through this book... All things desirable to men are contained in the Bible.” —Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) 16th President of the United States
Amen and amen! I echo those great words of truth from Mr. Lincoln. The inspired Word of God is the greatest treasure which we posses in the world today! The Holy Bible was here long before you and I were born, and it will be here long after we are gone, preserved and perpetuated forever! Psalm 119:89, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” That is why you should be as upset as I am, that wicked men and women keep CHANGING the Holy Bible!
One of the greatest RICHES of all is God's GRACE...
Ephesians 1:7, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”
Ephesians 2:7, “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.”
I love that precious phrase—HIS KINDNESS TOWARD US THROUGH CHRIST JESUS!!!
THE GREATEST GIFT of all is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself...
Ephesians 3:7-8, “Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;”
I have merely mentioned the tip of the iceberg of all the RICHES OF GOD. Even the God-hating, Christ-rejecting, unsaved person is the blessed recipient of GOD'S RICHES...
Luke 6:35-37, “But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:”
I love that passage of Scripture! The
Bible teaches us to love, forgive, be merciful, and never condemn anybody,
lest we be condemned for our many sins! GOD IS A GOOD GOD!!! Psalms
107:1-2, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy
endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;” GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!!!
You Cannot Go Wrong Investing in Eternal Treasures
I
am still shocked that 20% of all Americans under the age of 30 pursue wealth
as their TOP PRIORITY in life. Should it be surprising that so many churches
today are doing the same? Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters:
for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to
the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and
mammon.” People are inherently sinful, who tend to live in
denial. I dare say hardly any minister, church or Bible college would admit
to SERVING MAMMON INSTEAD OF GOD, but that is in fact the case all across
America. When making money (i.e., making a living) becomes a priority, then
serving God is bumped off its perch!
I went down to the Department Of Motor Vehicles today, and got my “Real ID Driver's License” renewed, for another 5 years. I am legal beagle! Arff! By law everyone will have to have the Real ID by October 2020. My birthday is March 5th. Lord willing, I cannot believe I will turn 53 years young next Thursday. Wow! I still feel like I am 18 years old. I don't feel old, which is cool. I cannot believe I will be 70 in just 17 years. It makes me rejoice that I am a child of God, and I KNOW that my heavenly family is waiting for me Ephesians 3:14-15, “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,” Amen!
