A Mother's Faith

By David J. Stewart

Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

There is no influence any stronger upon a child's spiritual development than a mother, whether it be for good or bad. It has been proven that 90% of a child's character, personality and emotional stability is determined by the age of five. A mother can make or break her child by her attitude. Do you praise God in the presence of your children, or do you cast doubts and complain about how phony everybody is? God is NOT a phony! Why don't you come to God then and deal directly with Him, and leave out the middleman priest, minister or whoever else it is that you can't stand.

A baby who is often ignored by it's mother, left to lie in a crib unattended most of the time, will raise a child who feels distant, never having established that motherly bond that every Christian mother ought to establish. It is important that a pregnant mother sing and hum melodies out loud, so the baby in her womb can feel happy and loved. A baby who hears it's mother yelling, cursing and complaining all the time won't be a happy child.

Developing a Child's Good Character

It is critically important that a very young child receive lots of love from a mother. It is very important that a child hear the Word of God. A pregnant mother should read the Bible out loud so the child can also hear the Scriptures. A mother with a baby that is 1,2 or 3 years old should continually sing, play melodic pretty music, and play audible Scriptures or read them aloud in the home.

Once the child is old enough to start grasping words, the mother should teach the child to repeat after her:

  1. Say it, the Bible is God's Word. Say it again, the Bible is God's Word.
  2. Say it, Jesus is the Son of God. Say it again, Jesus is the Son of God.

And then the mother should teach the child to repeat after her things; such as:

  1. Say it, beer is bad, bad, bad. Beer is bad.
  2. Say it, cigarettes are bad, bad, bad. Say it again, cigarettes are bad.

And if you have a daughter, you should teach her at the earliest possible age:

  1. Say it, ladies wear dresses. Pants are bad, bad, bad. Pants are bad.

Proverb 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” A good way to illustrate this Scripture is a house's foundation. A home may burn to the ground, but if there is a solid foundation, then the home can be rebuilt. This is what Proverb 22:6 means. It does not mean that a child who is raised properly will not go into sin, always live above reproach, nor bring shame upon the parents. All humanity are sinners, and there's no guarantee that just because a child is brought up a certain way that they won't go into sin.

It is wonderful to see a father and mother who have been happily married for 30-years, and have 3 sons that are all pastors in the ministry; but that does not mean that other parents who have been happily married for 30-years, but their son has gone into horrible sin, were failures as parents or lesser of parents than the aforementioned. If a good upbringing always led to a good life, then that would negate the free will of man. There are Godly people who have grown up in hellholes; and conversely, there are rotten sinful people who grew up in wonderful Christian homes. When Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, they opened the floodgate of sin, and mankind has since been corrupted. We are born with a sin-nature (Jeremiah 17:9). Yet, God has given to each person a free will to decide for ourselves whether to do right or wrong. Life is a series of decisions.

Having said that, character is teaching a child to make the right decisions. The worldly philosophy that if you make a child do right, that they will resent it and rebel is a false concept. The truth is that a child needs to be made to do the right thing. The word “character” comes from the word “cut,” meaning “a groove, or rut.” If a child is required to do what is right long enough, then it becomes a part of them. Children need spankings. God put that padded area in the back for a reason, i.e., spankings. A child should never be struck in anger, hit, smacked, or abused. God put that padded area in the back for paddling. Spankings are good and appropriate for young children. Once they are old enough to be grounded, or have a privilege taken away from them, then spankings are no longer necessary. They develop a habit of doing right subconsciously. That is what character is, i.e., the subconscious doing of right.

A child should NEVER be punished by denying them a church youth activity or something that is spiritually beneficial to them. In today's insane society, parents have to be more careful on the types of punishments they exert upon their children, because the insane domestic abuse laws are increasing every day. It has become crazy in America, one big insane asylum. Parents get into trouble for disciplining their children . . .

It grants children dangerous new rights thus encouraging more rebellious behavior. The truth is that in many cases, children do not have the wisdom and maturity to make sound decisions. The treaty also gives children the mechanism by which they could dispute any parental judgment. The UNCRC transfers more parental authority to the state while granting children radical new rights.

Satan is Attacking Teenage Girls, Who are Future Mothers

It is no coincidence that this generation and the last couple, have idolized superstar sleazy young teenage girls; such as, Britney Spears, Taylor Momsen, Emma Watson, Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Swift, Miranda Cosgrove, Emma Roberts, Dakota Fanning, Christina Aguilera, Shenae Grimes, Shailene Woodley, Daveigh Chase, Hayden Panettiere, Hannah Montana (Miley Cyrus), Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and hundreds more. These young women have all been the worst possible role models imaginable, dressing and behaving slutty, giving praise to anything except God. Just the Hannah Montana franchise has made billions of dollars already.

Teen girls need to be sheltered from the world, seriously. Get rid of that darned television, move out to the country, and spend time together as a family cooking, playing board games, going on picnics, visiting places, listening to old records, et cetera. Don't allow Rock music in your home. Christian families are becoming non-existent because we are all absorbed into modern society. Every home has a TV. Thus, every home sees Hollywood sex and violence on TV. The Christian life is not an accident; it is lived deliberately, intentionally and personally. Rebels always gather in groups. This is why the Antichrist is trying to unite the world before he can come. Whereas Jesus stood alone, and died alone on the cross; the Antichrist cannot stand on his own two-feet. The Antichrist needs followers or else he is nothing.

Our only hope is to abandon the television and all forms of worldliness. I promise you that if you let your teenage daughter or son listen to worldly Rock music and watch television that they will want to stay in their room all day listening to music, or surfing the internet. These are spiritually dangerous and unhealthy things for a teenager.
