Baptists Are Selling Out

By David J. Stewart | June 2012

Revelation 3:2, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.”

The world is CHANGING, but the Word of God is not! I am reminded of God's encouragement to Elijah in 1st Kings 19:18, “Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” There are still millions of Christians around the world who've still not bowed their knee to Lordship Salvation and the Devil's Ecumenical Movement.

What are the things which are ready to die in Revelation 3:2, “Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.”

The Southern Baptist Convention's New Perverted Bible Version

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has sold-out to the Devil. Granted, I like to hear every once in a while that the SBC takes a stand against same-sex marriage, et cetera. Unfortunately, once a group starts tampering with the Words of God their days are numbered. The group may continue, but the Lord won't be with them. Even as I type they have forsaken the pure, inspired and preserved Words of God. It's so sad. God gives us His Words, preserved unto every generation just as He PROMISED in Psalm 12:6-8; but then the SBC and many like them reject those Words for something more hip to our times.

And to no surprise, the HCSB version butchers Romans 10:9, teaching the heresy of Lordship Salvation...

HCSB -If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

KJB - Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Do you see the drastic difference in meaning? This is why 75% of all evangelical churches today have a wrong understanding of what it Biblical means to repent. Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

“Repentance” in the Greek in Mark 1:15 is metanoeo, which simply means “a change of mind,” no more. Notice that believing the Gospel is the object of true repentance; not ridding one's life of sin, which is what heretics like Ray Comfort, Creation Science Evangelism (CSE), Jack Chick and John MacArthur teach. Mark 1:15 plainly teaches that the Gospel is the object of repentance. Men repent and believe the Gospel. That is salvation.

What is happening today is that once Independent Fundamental Baptist's are CHANGING. And I mean changing for the worst! CSE refers to their ministry as a “parachurch” ministry. On Wikipedia, Dr. Kent Hovind's religion is specified as “Independent Baptist.” At some point in recent Church history, Independent Fundamental Baptist churches because a united movement in America, which totally defeats the original purpose of being “INDEPENDENT.” Independent Baptist churches were never meant to unite with anyone, lest they sinfully compromise and stray away from the FUNDAMENTALS of the Christian faith (as taught in the plain, unchanging and inspired Words of God). Our Authority is the King James Bible. The B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the Book for me!!!

All across America professed Independent Baptists are yoking together with neo-evangelicals like John MacArthur and Ray Comfort (who are Calvinists and unsaved reprobates. I know Ray Comfort is unsaved because he plainly teaches that a person MUST try really hard to stop sinning in order to be saved. That's a false plan of salvation. Like Roman Catholics who bow to Mary yet claim they don't worship her, so also does Ray Comfort claim to be saved by grace through faith while attempting to please God by abstaining from sin to be saved. Don't take my word for it, Read Comfort's own words.

In it's purest form, Independent Fundamental Baptist Churches are all about individual believers. We stand alone as individual Christians!!! We are saved as individuals. We decide to serve God as individuals. Having said that, there is a historic Baptist doctrinal position. Our creed is the Bible, nothing else. The Salvation Army's creed of beliefs was written by their founder William Booth and his feminist wife, Catherine. It is corrupt!

Beware of anyone who fails to mention the death, burial and resurrection. Salvation is by grace through faith plus nothing! So many men today are arrogant—jumping-on-the-bandwagon to support their friends in the ministry—friends who are corrupted and pulling on the same rope as the Devil. Ecumenicals gravitate toward each other. They all have a total misunderstanding of what Biblical repentance means. ...

Having said that, I totally disagree with Dr. Hovind's position of a Young Earth (which is commonly held today). Albeit, I think it is wrong to discredit an entire ministry which has turned so many children away from Evolution. Faithful Christians are feeling increasingly lonely as others are turning, changing, selling out to neo-evangelicalism!
