Chinese Beef and Broccoli

By David J. Stewart

This is a delicious recipe and simple to cook! Once you make this a few times, you'll be able to cook it quickly.

MAIN INGREDIENTS:

INGREDIENTS FOR BROWN SAUCE:

METHOD:

There are different ways to make this meal. The other method is to marinate the meat first; but this is the quick way. In this meal you make the sauce and then add the meat and veggies and stir! Done! It tastes great!

Blanch broccoli and onions for no more than 30 seconds in boiling water. If using tougher less expensive cuts of beef, mix thinly sliced meat with 2 teaspoons of baking soda (not baking powder) and allow to sit for 15 minutes, then rinse meat in strainer and blanch for no more than 30 seconds. Ribeye is already very tender and can go directly into the wok (cut into thin strips or shred).

Mix brown sauce ingredients together in small bowl except oil, garlic and corn starch mixture. Pour corn oil into hot wok and sauté garlic lightly. Then add mixed ingredients and stir. Add corn starch mixture 10 seconds later to thicken. When sauce bubbles (which will be almost immediately), sauce is done! Add beef and vegetables and stir for 30-45 seconds. Remove from wok immediately and serve. Good stuff!
