Mary Worship Is Crazy!
By David J. Stewart
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God..." —Exodus 20:4-5
A picture is truly worth a thousand words! How can any Catholic claim that they don't worship Mary? Obviously, they are in utter denial of the truth. Just look at the photo to the left, of all those people BOWING to a graven image of the "Blessed Virgin."
One of the dictionary meanings of the word “crazy” is something foolish and totally unsound, which is exactly what bowing to a statue of Mary is... CRAZY!!!
God will punish anyone who places their hope and trust in the virgin Mary. Furthermore, Mary did NOT remain a virgin. Catholics have created a monster—teaching that Mary was born and lived sinless, stayed a perpetual virgin and never died a physical death. All three of these Catholic doctrines are lies of the Devil. Mary was born in sin, just like everyone else (Romans 3:23). Mary and Joseph were married and had other sons and daughters. Catholics lie and claim that the Bible is talking about another Mary. That is very evil what they claim. It's absolutely unbelievable what kind of nonsense is in the Catholic catechism. Jeremiah 17:5, “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.”
Oh the blindness upon men's hearts! I have received a lot of hate mail over the years from Catholics who insist that I am wrong about their religion. The Bible contradicts them 100%. I am in agreement with the Scriptures. You cannot show me any Bible verses which permit bowing to idols; but I can show you Exodus 20:4-5 which prohibits bowing to any graven image. Catholics actually try to say that their statues are not graven images. My friend, Catholicism will lead you straight into the damnable fires of Hell. All idols are graven images.
It is idolatry to even be covetous (Colossians 3:5). Anything you place a higher priority than God is covetousness. I've known people who lived for their new automobile. The wash it, talk about it, photograph it, love it, put their money into it, adore it and think about it all day and all week. Literally, that piece of plastic, metal and fiberglass is their God. The sinful “American Idol” show is idolatry!!! Americans worship celebrities instead of God. The Lord should receive our praise, attention and affections instead of Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Elvis Presley. Who or what is your God? My God is the Lord Jesus Christ, Whom I serve with all my heart and mind. To Hell with Roman Catholicism!!! I'll take the inspired Words of God!
I actually heard a Catholic priest tell his congregation not to read the Bible, because it requires expert training. The priest told the hundreds of Catholics present to listen to the priests and trust them to guide them. Isn't that sad? What wicked people!!! Jesus told us in John 5:39 to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES!!!
Yet, they can't backup their allegations against me with sound Biblical doctrine. Catholicism is straight from the pits of Hell, and God hates it! IDOLATRY is a horrible sin, which brings the judgment and condemnation of God.
Did you know that the official Catholic catechism removes the 2nd of the Ten Commandments? Here's a link to their Catechism: http://www.christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/part3_2.html
Please notice that they've removed the 2nd commandment which forbids anyone from "bowing" to a graven image. It's obvious that the Catholic Church is trying to hide their sin of idolatry here. In the Catholic Catechism (part 3) you'll read the following words of blasphemy...
"2132 The Christian veneration of images is not contrary to the first commandment which proscribes idols. Indeed, "the honor rendered to an image passes to its prototype," and "whoever venerates an image venerates the person portrayed in it." The honor paid to sacred images is a "respectful veneration," not the adoration due to God alone: "
First of all, not bowing to a graven image is the 2nd command, not the first. The evil men who wrote the Catholic Catechism deceitfully split the 10th commandment into two to make up for the missing 2nd commandment. Why are there two commandments telling us not to covet? Seems kind of strange don't you think? It's obvious what the devil has done here. You can't just eradicate the 2nd commandment!
Secondly, the quoted passage from the Catechism above is blasphemy. God clearly warns us in Exodus 20:4-5 NOT to make unto ourselves ANY graven images. The brazen serpent was God's idea, not Moses. God never told us ANYWHERE in the Word of God to make a statue of anyone or anything. The Israelites were instructed to "look" to the serpent (which pictured Christ) and live.
The people were NOT instructed to bow, honor, or pray to a statue. The Catholics can devilishly call their idolatry "Respectful Veneration" if they want to, but it's a direct violation of the 2nd Commandment (which you don't have in Catholicism).
It is crazy for anyone to bow down to statues, when the Word of God so plainly condemns doing so. It is rebellion against God. None of the Apostles ever bowed to any idols, and neither did Jesus. Furthermore, NOT ONE of the writers of the Bible ever leads us to recognize Mary in any capacity.
In fact, Mary ISN'T mentioned in 22 out of 27 New Testament books! Not once are we ever instructed to pray or bow to Mary or her image. It's creepy that billions of Catholics sincerely believe that bowing to a statue of Mary is acceptable to God when it's not! Exodus 20:4-5 prohibit bowing to statues or images. It's eerie a billion Catholics repeatedly chant 53 "hail Marys" in a every Rosary! Mary this, Mary that ... Mary, Mary, Mary. Don't you see that Mary worship is idolatry?
The bottom line is that Catholics have knowingly, and stubbornly, rejected the commandments of God to follow their own traditions instead. This is exactly what Jesus said concerning the Apostate Jewish religion, "Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men ... Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition ... Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye" (Mark 6:6-8,13). The Catholic Church is a prisonhouse of religion!
Catholics in Los Angeles commit idolatry by worshipping a graven image (Exodus 20:4-5). The oldest religious procession in East Los Angeles drew thousands of worshippers in December of 2004, as Catholics gathered in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Concluding at East Los Angeles College Stadium, the mile-long procession featured numerous dancers, floats and renditions recalling the appearance of the "Blessed Virgin Mary" to St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac, Mexico, in December 1531. The procession was led by the venerated "Peregrina" image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, an exact digital reproduction of the original in Mexico City. Worshippers came up to sinfully venerate the image of La Virgen, and received blessed roses, a symbol of the demonic Our Lady. There is a spirit of demonism behind all Mary worship.
Lutherans: Following Mary Afar Off
The apostate Lutheran Church follows Mary as well, but afar off. Just as Peter followed Christ from afar to disassociate himself, so do Lutherans worship Mary from afar to avoid being called "Catholic." Yet, the Lutheran religion is very attractive to disgruntled Catholics who want to have Protestantism and Mary Worship combined.
Though not to the idolatrous extent that the Catholics idolize Mary, the Lutherans follow in the same adulterous steps of the Great Whore, Roman Catholicism. The photo at the left is one depiction of the Lutheran Mary. Though the Halo around Mary's head is missing, it is still disconcerting (and unbiblical) for anyone to recognize her at all. Mary is no more to be praised than any other godly mother. In a poem titled "Swept Up In Joy" by David Miller, a Lutheran Minister, he says the following:
I tried to pray through my distress as the choir sang of Mary: "Hail favored one, the Lord is with thee." But my thoughts connected only with my anxiety.
"Hail favored one?" Excuse me, but where in the Bible are we ever commanded to recognize Mary at all? Jesus never even hinted for anyone to praise Mary. This is a MANMADE TRADITION, and it came out of the Great Whore of Catholicism. Just as Catholics deny that they worship Mary (which they obviously do), so do the Lutherans deny that they worship Mary to a lesser degree.
Barbara Owen, a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Annapolis, Md., is the editor of Daily Readings from Luther's Writings, Augsburg Fortress. The following quotes are from her article "Luther On Mary":
The Scriptures always point to Christ as the one who saves. Luther characteristically said: "Oh, how many kisses we bestowed on Mary! But she did not redeem and save me."
But Luther also honored Mary and her "unique place in all of [humankind]." He insisted "the festivals of the Purification and Annunciation of Mary may be continued, and for the time being her Assumption and Nativity." He could even imagine her as a heavenly intercessor.
The first couple of sentences are ok (and this is all that MOST people see when they look at Lutheranism), but take a look at the sentences which follow. This is shocking! Martin Luther said that he could even imagine Mary as a "heavenly intercessor." Folks, that's devilish doctrine! In one breath Martin Luther admits that Mary CANNOT redeem anyone, and in the next breath he speaks blasphemy against God.
"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -1st Timothy 2:5
Mary is NOT an intercessor and you had better get that straight because Martin Luther was a doctrinal mess. Here is a whole bunch of demon doctrine from Martin Luther (the source is from the same article above, Luther On Mary):
Luther noted Mary's humility: "So the wondrous pure spirit of Mary is worthy of even greater praise, because having such overwhelming honors heaped upon her head, she does not let them tempt her [to pride]. ... [In] truth she thrusts [pride and honor] from her and would have us honor God in her and come through her to a good confidence in His grace."
Mary is a model for us and a comfort. Luther wrote: "O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God, what great comfort God has shown us in you, by so graciously regarding your unworthiness and low estate. This encourages us to believe that henceforth He will not despise us poor and lowly ones, but graciously regard us also, according to your example."
Mary isn't "a goddess who could grant gifts or render aid, as some suppose when they pray and flee to her rather than to God," Luther wrote. "She does nothing, God does all. We ought to call upon her, that for her sake God may grant and do what we request." Luther biographer, Martin Brecht, describes Luther's thoughts: Mary is "the model for believers, and, above all, the example of God's action. It is God's grace that we are to admire in Mary, nothing else."
Through faith, Luther wrote, a person "may boast of such treasure as that Mary is his real mother, Christ his brother, and God his father.... By this token you sit assuredly in the Virgin Mary's lap and are her dear child."
The Catholics teach that Mary is a "co-redeemer" with Christ. Of course, that is a lie of the devil. Jesus is the ONLY Redeemer. Though the Lutherans deny this heresy, they are woefully guilty of creating their own heresy by praying to Mary. Did you read what Luther said above? "We ought to call upon her, that for her sake God may grant and do what we request." Heresy! Show me that in the Word of God! I triple-dog dare you to show me one verse in the Bible that says we should pray, admire, praise, or seek to contact Jesus' mother in ANY way. You CANNOT!
Show me where the Bible teaches that we should expect God to answer our prayers for Mary's sake. The Lutheran church in NO church, but a bastard child of the Mother of harlots (Roman Catholicism). Luther prayed... "O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God, what great comfort God has shown us in you..." Like I said, Luther came out of Roman Catholicism, but Catholicism never came out of Martin Luther.
Even more disturbing is Luther's comment above... "a person may boast of such treasure as that Mary is his real mother, Christ his brother, and God his father." Whoa! Martin Luther is guilty of the same heresy that Roman Catholics are guilty of... ELEVATING MARY! Martin Luther speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He tells us that Mary does nothing, yet we should praise her greatly. But what does the Bible say...
“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” —Isaiah 42:8
If Martin Luther were alive today, he would be another ecumenical heretic like Billy Graham. Read the shocking heresy found at http://orthodoxlutheran.fws1.com/bvm/books.html...
In 1996, Pope John Paul II concluded that the title 'Mother of God' "proclaims the nobility of woman and her very high vocation. God, in effect, treats Mary as a free and responsible person and does not fulfill the Incarnation of his Son until after he has obtained her consent." Lutherans fully agree with this understanding of Mary.
Are you getting this? Lutherans believe that God could not come to the earth incarnate without Mary's PERMISSION. If you'll read the Bible, you'll quickly learn that Mary was ALREADY pregnant before she or Joseph knew what was going on. God did NOT need or ask for Mary's permission.
Lutherans are basically unofficial Catholics. They read out of the Apocrypha like the Catholics. They recognize Catholic saints, holidays and festivals. They baptize infants like the Catholics. Lutheranism is nothing more than "diet Catholicism," and a deadly diet at that! By the way, Protestantism is NOT Christianity. Just because Martin Luther protested against the Catholic Church doesn't mean that he was saved. In fact, Luther was a heretic who taught baptismal regeneration and is burning in Hell this moment. Most Protestants today have churchianity without Christianity—they are NOT saved. The ungodly Church of England is a prime example.
Here is an exact quote, of Luther's own words, from his small catechism ...
"What gifts or benefits does Baptism bestow?
If effects forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil, and grants eternal salvation to all who believe, as the Word and promise of God declare." (Online search: Luther small catechism)
According to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on their baptism page...
In Holy Baptism, God liberates us from sin and death by joining us to the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Born children of a fallen humanity, in the baptismal waters we become God’s reborn children and inherit eternal life. By water and the Holy Spirit we are made members of the Church, which is Christ’s body. As we live with him and with his people, we grow in faith, love and obedience to God’s will.
That is a lie of the devil. Our sins are NOT forgiven when we are baptized. What does the Bible teach?
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." —Romans 10:9,10
I don't see anything in this Scripture about being baptized. Romans 10:13 is very clear, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Why are the Lutherans teaching damnable heresy by ADDING the work of baptism to faith in Christ? By the way, the Lutherans (as do the Catholics) make baptism a SACRAMENT. The Bible only teaches baptism as an ordinance. The word "sacrament" is NOT found in the Word of God.
Luther’s Large Catechism (IV, 83) instructs that Baptism "overcomes and takes away sin."
The following is quoted from the Augsburg Confession (What Evangelical Lutherans Believe, Teach and Confess)...
Article 9 - Baptism
We believe, teach and confess that Baptism with water in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is necessary because Christ commanded it so and that the grace of God (forgiveness and renewal) is offered through it (Matt. 28:29; John 3:5; Eph 5:26; 1 Pet. 3:21). Children should also be baptized, for in their being offered to God through Baptism the too are received into His grace (Mark 10:14; Acts 2:38-39).
Lutherans teach the heresy that baptism is NECESSARY for salvation, but the Bible clearly denies such foolishness. Charles Spurgeon preached a sermon against baptismal regeneration. In 1st Corinthians 1:17, the Apostle Paul firmly declares "For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel..." Surely Paul would NOT have made such a statement if baptism were essential to being saved. I actually heard a Church of Christ minister insist that the Apostle Paul had assistants who baptized the converts. The Bible never teaches any such foolishness. By the way, the Church of Christ is straight out of the pits of hell too... DANGER! The world is filled with deceptive cults. Lutheranism is DANGEROUS!
The Seventh-Day Adventists (SDA's) actually teach that you need to get born again. They believe that Jesus is God. They believe in the Godhead. Unfortunately, they also teach that trusting Christ is NOT enough in and of itself to be saved. SDA's believe that one has to be deemed "worthy" by Jesus Christ in order to go to heaven. My point is that the Seventh-Day Adventists come so close to looking like their Christians that it's SCARY. They are a cult. Lutheranism is also a cult, though much less obvious to the person who is not knowledgeable of the Word of God, rightly dividing the Word of Truth (2nd Timothy 2:15).
It is a Sin to Recognize Mary at All
It doesn't take but a little common sense folks to figure this out. In Matthew 11:11 Jesus said, "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." Who did Jesus say was the greatest? ... Mary? No, John the Baptist.
Yet, Jesus said he that is LEAST in Heaven is greater than John. If John was said to be the greatest, then why doesn't the Catholic religion bow to a statue of John? Mary was never called the "greatest." Do you see how ridiculous the teachings of Catholicism are? People can pervert and corrupt the Word of God to fabricate just about any heresy. I get letters frequently from homosexuals, claiming that homosexuality is a form of Biblical love which God approves of. I also get letters from Wiccan witches claiming that Jesus would never expose witchcraft like I'm doing. Oh really? Evidently most heathens have never read beyond the four Gospels. Ephesians 5:11 commands, "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Praying to Mary is a work of darkness.
Praying the Rosary is a work of darkness. The crucifix is a work of darkness. Bowing to statues is a work of darkness. Catholicism is a work of darkness. Listen friend, I realize that it's a frightening thing to abandon the religion you spent your whole life in; but you can do it. Once you receive Christ as your Savior (John 1:12), and start learning the Word of God (1st Peter 2:2), a whole new world of understanding will be opened unto you (1st Corinthians 2:14-16). It's a wonderful feeling to know that you have the Spirit of God in your soul, and that you don't need man's religion to find the way in life. It was Jesus Christ who said in Luke 17:21, "...for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
I am amazed at how SILENT professed Christians are about the evils of Catholicism. Over 1,000,000,000 Catholics are headed for the Lake of Fire in their sins without Christ. Let us be diligent to contend for the faith and to expose the monstrosity of the Catholic religion. To Hail Mary is to Hail Satan!
