Joe Camel and Sexual Perversion

It is no secret that SEX SELLS in advertising.  Tragically, such wickedness has corrupted our morals in America, to the extent that many people no longer see any spiritual harm in pornography, fornication, nudity, prostitution, or immodest attire.  Look carefully at the photo to the right and you'll observe a woman's legs open, and the intercourse act.  Booze, cigarettes, and immorality are inseparable.

Joe Camel (officially Old Joe) was the advertising mascot for Camel cigarettes from late 1987 to July 12, 1997, appearing in magazine advertisements, billboards, and other print media. Prior to 1987, the character had appeared in animated television advertisements.

Joe Camel was conceived in the 1950s by Billy Coulton, art director in Long Island working on a T-shirt promotion for the brand in Europe. The R.J. Reynolds U.S. marketing team, looking for an idea to promote Camel's 75th anniversary, re-discovered Joe in the company's archives in the late 1980s. At that time, R.J. Reynolds' staff found that the Camel brand had a reputation as an "old-man's cigarette." The staff wanted a new campaign to make the brand more attractive to contemporary smokers.

Sexual perversion has become the norm in advertising.  Joe Camel is a loser. The latest TV commercial presents William Shatner (i.e., captain "Kirk" from Star Trek) as a negotiator, fielding calls from distraught would-be travelers and making deals for them.  In the commercial, he seduces a female hotel clerk into marking down a room, and makes the statement... “Sometimes doing the wrong thing can feel so right,” as he lustfully places his hand over hers on the computer’s mouse.  When she discounts the room by half, he purrs, “You’re so naughty.”  This is so horrible.  No one should ever joke about sin.  It is tragic that America not only spits in God's face, but mocks God as well.  We don't just commit sin, we name one of our most popular cities SIN CITY!  How do you think God feels about this?  Do you think God approves of Las Vegas?  Legalized prostitution in Nevada?   No, God is angry with our nation, but most people are living in denial.  We are Living A Big Lie in America.

Everything from homosexuality to adultery is mocked nowadays.  Companies hire advertisers to make sexually-perverted commercials, guaranteed to sell their product.  They know that the carnal nature is "dirty minded" and will clearly There's no TV show in America any more evil than Desperate Housewives.  Truly America deserves to be severely judged for our sins.  We are a nation of boozers, smokers, and hypocrites.  And to think, people kill (abort) their own children.

Cigarette smoking is a sin!  If God wanted us to smoke, then He would have placed a chimney on top of our head.  There's nothing more disgusting than cigarettes.  If I'm eating in a restaurant, and someone starts smoking, I make a fuss.  Thankfully, cigarette smoking is being outlawed in restaurants.   It's a filthy, disgusting, expensive, habit.  Cigarettes produce harmful carbon monoxide gas, as well as THOUSANDS of other toxic chemicals...

Heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium and lead have been detected in sidestream cigarette smoke, demonstrating that these toxic elements can travel different distances in air flow.

Smoking cigarettes produces upwards of 4000 chemicals; many are toxic and around 40 cause cancer. These compounds remain in the air as environmental tobacco smoke which is inhaled by other people in the area. There are two main types of tobacco smoke: mainstream tobacco smoke that is exhaled by the smoker and sidestream smoke that comes from the tip of the burning cigarette.

Humans are strange creatures.  We know something is bad for us, but we do it anyway.  What is wrong with people?  Is it any wonder why 99% of the world is headed straight into the fires of Hell.  I recently heard a Catholic priest say, "We really don't know who goes to Hell."  Well, he would know if he read the Bible... "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ" (2nd Thessalonians 1:8).  Anyone who doesn't OBEY THE GOSPEL goes to Hell to be tormented in flames forever.  It doesn't require a brain surgeon to figure that out, it just requires our faith in God's Word.
