“...Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.” —John 21:7
I was reading the Bible the other day and a
thought occurred to me as I read this Scripture. Peter didn't have a
problem being naked around the other disciples; but he immediately went to put
his clothes on when he saw Jesus. So much can be said about this
passage of Scripture. The world needs Jesus, so they'll put their clothes back
on!
Peter strayed from the Lord in his discouragement. Jesus had been crucified and Peter quit the ministry to go back fishing. He also went back into sin and took his clothes off. This is what happens when Christians wander away from the Lord—the clothes start coming off!
This is why country singer, Faith Hill, who testifies of having grown up in a good Christian home, has already posed twice in Playboy magazine! Despite her claim of being spiritual, Faith Hill needs to find Jesus. Do you think Jesus would look at a Playboy magazine? Do you think Jesus, who condemned lust in Matthew 5:28, would approve of Faith Hill posing sensually in a dirty pornographic magazine? Of course NOT!
It's just a fact, nudity and heathendom go together. When a lost sinner
believes upon the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive his sins, a change takes place
in that person's heart, and the Holy Spirit comes to live within that soul
(Romans 8:9). As a believer grows in the Lord, and draws nearer
to God, the clothes go back on! Peter didn't even have to think twice
... when he heard that the Lord was present, he put his clothes back on! What a needful lesson for Christians today.
Adam and Eve
I recall a related Scripture back in Genesis 3:7 ... “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.” Adam and Eve were convicted about their nakedness. Biblically, public nudity is a SIN. It is evil
The serpent said that Adam and Eve would become “as gods, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5) and that's exactly what happened. When they sinned by partaking of the forbidden fruit, the eyes of their understanding were opened and they became aware of good and evil. They immediately went to hide, knowing that public nudity is evil. This is Biblical evidence that nudity is a sin in public.
In beach destination places that attract tourists, like Florida, California and Hawaii, or any hotel that has a swimming pool, you're going to see nudity. The skimpy two-piece bathing suits that immodest women wear these days are totally useless, being paper-like. Some women even wear flesh colored bathing suits to make it look as though they're completely nude. Women wear white panties (bathing suits) that are completely see through, showing the separation in the buttocks. I mean, you can see through the underwear. These women are standing in line at the front desk and you're standing in line behind them, trying to maintain a clean mind. The only answer is PRAYER (Luke 22:40). Evil women enjoy seeing decent and godly man sweat, get nervous, have a hard time emotionally in the presence of a lewd woman without discretion; but their day of judgment is coming, they're damnation slumbereth not, they are already condemned by God for taking their clothes off in public.
Most women laugh and scorn at the teaching of modesty and appropriate clothing for women, but these are the same wicked fools who fornicate and end up in an abortion clinic, blaming God for their problems. Public nudity is a horrible sin, which causes lasciviousness. Whereas Adam and Eve respected God enough to run and hide in their public nakedness, idolatrous women today revel in it as a sport. Women take off their bras at the beach, deliberately wear transparent clothing, having no regard for morality. One of the most wicked businesses ever opened is HOOTER'S restaurant chain, featuring big-busted women in skin-tight, skimpy, t-shirts to seduce the customers. It is so evil. God curse America!!! Some men chuckle and act like it's good clean fun. God is not humored. Hooter's is wicked, far from God. I heard a man say that he only goes to Hooters for the spicy chicken-wings. I'll die before you find me in a HOOTERS.
It's a sport to them to cause lust and lasciviousness. Those business owners and women ought to be arrested for public indecency and put in prison. Americas have gotten so bad that women are without any discretion. Proverb 11:22, “As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.” You may not care, but God still does. Strippers, nudists and whorishly clothed women will be sorry on Judgment Day (Hebrews 9:27).

"And the eyes of them both were opened"—this refers to their conscience. Before the fall, man did not have a conscience; he was innocent. Innocence is ignorance of evil. Man did not make conscience. It is an accuser that each one of us has living on the inside of us. A leading psychologist in a university in Southern California, who is a Christian, said to me that the guilt complex is as much a part of man as his right arm is. Man cannot get rid of that guilt complex in a psychological way.
"And they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Have you ever noticed that the fig tree is the only tree that is specifically mentioned? (The tree of the knowledge of good and evil is not an apple tree. I do not know what it was, but I am almost sure it was not an apple tree.) These fig leaves concealed but did not really cover. Adam and Eve did not confess; they just attempted to cover up their sin. They were not ready to admit their lost condition.
This is the same condition of man today in religion. He goes through exercises and rituals, he joins churches, and he becomes very religious. Have you ever noticed that Christ cursed the fig tree? That is quite interesting. And He denounced religion right after that, by the way; He denounced it with all His being because religion merely covers over sin.

Peter's nakedness was sinful, and he knew it,
which is why he put his clothes back on when he saw the Lord.
Nudity Rooted in idolatry
There's a very interesting passage of Scripture in the Old Testament which shows a commonality between nudity, sexual sins, idolatry, and rock-n-roll music. While Moses was standing upon Mount Sinai, receiving the Ten Commandments from God, God informed Moses of something tragic ... “And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people” (Exodus 32:7-9).
This is so appropriately descriptive of America and Europe today. We are a stiffnecked people!!! Carefully notice in Exodus 32:17 that Joshua tells Moses, “There is a noise of war in the camp.” Moses listens and responds in Verse 18 saying, “It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.” It was rock-n-roll music ... LOUD NOISE! Notice in Exodus 32:19,25... “And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot ... Moses saw that the people were naked.” This sounds like a morally reprehensible Mardi Gras festival.
The official symbol
of Mardi Gras is even a golden calf (the
fat bull). There is no debate
concerning the evils of rock-n-roll, and it's power to promote nudity and
fornication. Rock music is of the Devil (including all so-called
"Christian" rock as well). You can go anywhere in this world you want
to go, and you'll discover this to be true--anywhere there is sin, you WILL
find some type of pagan music!
The Demon-Possessed Maniac of Gadarenes
Luke 8:27 and 35, “And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs... Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”
What a precious passage of Scripture! This afflicted man was possessed by devils, running around naked and living in the wild. The entire city knew he was insane. Yet the Bible says when he found Jesus, he came into his right mind and put his clothes back on. Amen! Jesus is the cure for insanity and nudity.
Millions of Americans go to psychologists,
psychiatrists and religious leaders for help; but the Word of God says the
afflicted man at Gadarenes came into his RIGHT MIND when he found Jesus. It
is interesting that being in one's “right mind” is associated with being
properly clothed. Americans have a problem keeping their clothes on because
they AREN'T in their right minds, they are
mentally-ill. This is clearly
evidenced by the fact that nearly
half of the women in
America have murdered a child by abortion. Only a mentally-ill person
would deliberately kill a precious child. So it doesn't surprise me in a
rotten society that devours it's own children that they would also have a
problem with nudity.
The Cure for Nudity is Jesus!
Women who love and respect the Lord won't wear bikinis at the beach, or wear miniskirts, or wear pants, or pose in Playboy. There's not an honest normal man alive who doesn't know what's wrong with women wearing pants—they are extremely revealing of a woman's flesh.
We are living in evil times, when unrepentant sinners are trying to justify every sin imaginable with the Bible. I heard a woman on the news, a professional pornographic model, claim that God approved of her vile career. She said that God created Adam and Eve naked, so nudity must be ok. Evidently she's never read Genesis 3:7 or 1st Timothy 2:9.
Here's a Scripture for all you women who keep trying to justify your nudity and immodest clothing ... “Ye have wearied the LORD with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?” (Malachi 2:17). Beyonce Knowles claims to be a devout Christian; yet says she has permission from God to wear sexy clothes and strip on stage. She is woefully wrong! Beyonce needs to see Jesus.
