The Lord is No Longer Sent to Heal the
Brokenhearted in the Modern Bible Revisions

By David J. Stewart | January 2018

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

We are now living in “perilous times” (2nd Timothy 3:1-5), so perilous that most Bible teachers, church pastors and evangelists are tolerant of Satan's never-ending flood of Bible revisions. And then there are the multitudes of religious cowards, who profess to use only the King James Bible; but dare not speak a negative word of warning about the Devil's hundreds of Bible perversions, lest they offend someone and not be invited back to speak. Truly, “the love of money is the roof of all evil” (1st Timothy 6:10).” Jesus warned in Luke 16:13, “Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”

One of the most horrible changes which corrupts the Word of God is in Luke 4:18. Our text Bible verse above quotes the trustworthy King James Bible, where the Lord Jesus proclaimed that His Father “hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted” (Luke 4:18b). Tragically, and dishonestly, the modern Bible versions remove this part of the verse, which is a corruption of God's Word.

Here is the faithful King James Bible once more...

King James Bible (KJB)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”

Look what the Devil's crowd has done to the following counterfeit translations:

New International Version (NIV)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.”

Easy-To-Read Version (ERV)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has chosen me to tell good news to the poor. He sent me to tell prisoners that they are free and to tell the blind that they can see again. He sent me to free those who have been treated badly.”

English Standard Version (ESV)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”

American Standard Version (ASV)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised.”

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed.”

Do you see the big problem? They REMOVED any mention of Jesus being SENT TO HEAL THE BROKENHEARTED!!!
