2nd Timothy 2:3-5,“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.”
The phrase “endure hardness” is the
Greek word kakopatheo and means “to undergo hardship.” The phrase
“entangleth himself with” is the Greek word empleko and means, “to
entwine, that is, (figuratively) involve with.” The word “soldier” is the Greek
word stratologeo and means “to gather (or select) as a warrior, that is,
enlist in the army.”
Hence, God is telling us as believers to undergo the hardships of life without becoming so involved, that we're sidetracked by the affairs of this life; thus rendered us useless for the work of Christ. Luke 8:14, “And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.” We are at war.
The Apostle Paul in 2nd Timothy 2:3-5 is speaking to Timothy, who was selected by God to enlist as a soldier. Not every believer is selected to enlist in God's army, but every believer is still involved with the spiritual war raging in this world. It's just like the physical military during World War II. Even though only selected Americans were enlisted to fight in the war, all Americans were still at war. The women worked in ammunition factories and others as nurses and did their part to SUPPORT the soldiers. Not every believer is called by God to be a soldier on the frontlines, but every believer is commanded by God to do their part to help win the battle.
Soul-winning is not a method; but
rather, a command. Every born-again believer has a duty to help do their part in
the spiritual war that is waging. If you are not a soldier (pastors,
evangelists, preachers, et cetera), then help support the soldiers with prayer,
holy living, tithing to your church, and volunteering your time to help the work
of God.

Lang Lang the pianist says he chose it. Chairman Hu Jintao recognized it as soon as he heard it. Patriotic Chinese Internet users were delighted as soon as they saw the videos online. Early morning TV viewers in China knew it would be played an hour or two beforehand. At the White House State dinner on Jan. 19, about six minutes into his set, Lang Lang began tapping out a famous anti-American propaganda melody from the Korean War: the theme song to the movie “Battle on Shangganling Mountain.”
The film depicts a group of “People’s Volunteer Army” soldiers who are first hemmed in at Shanganling (or Triangle Hill) and then, when reinforcements arrive, take up their rifles and counterattack the U.S. military “jackals.”
The movie and the tune are widely known among Chinese, and the song has been a leading piece of anti-American propaganda by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for decades. CCP propaganda has always referred to the Korean War as the “movement to resist America and help [North] Korea.” The message of the propaganda is that the United States is an enemy—in fighting in the Korean War the United States’ real goal was said to be to invade and conquer China. The victory at Triangle Hill was promoted as a victory over imperialists.

When talk radio show hosts who profess to be Christians play JUDAS PRIEST, ACDC, VAN HALEN, BLUE OYSTER CULT, DEEP PURPLE and other satanic bands, they are pulling on the same rope as the Devil. We are at war!!! Many men today are fighting against the New World Order, but they're not fighting against the Devil. There's no way we're going to win! God will NOT bless a nation that embraces wickedness. America is filled with lesbians who profess to love God and be Christians. America is saturated with homosexual ministers who speak apostasy from pulpits on Sundays. America is filled with immoral people who claim to love God.
You're promoting the music of the enemy (the Devil's crowd).
We are enduring “PERILOUS TIMES” as foretold in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5. The Bible is not likening the Christian life to a war; but in fact, there is a LITERAL WAR going on—a spiritual war! Whether individual believers want to acknowledge their role in the war, they are still in a spiritual war! Many believers do not think in terms of being in a spiritual war, but we are nonetheless.
All of the moral wickedness around us in society is a spiritual matter. God is a Spirit and can only be worshipped in spirit (John 4:24). The Bible is God's inspired Words. The Bible is a spiritual Book, which is why the unsaved person cannot understand it. 1st Corinthians 2:14-16, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” The carnally-minded man is going to teach false doctrine, praise the wicked and the Bible is foolishness to him.
Having said that, let me say that...
The Apostle Paul fully realized that we are at war as Christians against Satan and the powers of darkness. The Bible teaches that our WEAPONS OF WARFARE are not carnal (guns, knives, hand-to-hand combat, psychological warfare, et cetera). 2nd Corinthians 10:4-6, “(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
Philippians 2:25, “Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.”
Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
Acts 26:18, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
as running a marathon. In God's contest there are no losers if you strive lawfully and finish the race. The goal is not to finish first; but rather, to ENDURE HARDSHIPS along the way and finish, no matter what it takes. The Christian race is a race of endurance and not talent. God is not interested in how fast you can run, nor how gracefully you can stride. God is interested in Christians who will keep going and not QUIT.
The world is filled with QUITTERS. They quit their marriage vows. They quit living for God. Preachers are quitting. Missionaries are quitting. They quit looking for the blessed hope of the Lord's appearing. They quit their ministry. They quit praying. They quit tithing. They quit going to church. They quit soul-winning. They quit everything! Proverbs 20:6, “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” It matters not how slow you may be able to travel, just so long as you keep going. If you can't run the race, then walk the race.
The Bible specifically calls men who are selected by God to labor in the Word as “SOLDIERS OF JESUS CHRIST” in 2nd Timothy 2:3. Not every believer is chosen by God to labor in doctrine and lead others. Jesus told Peter to “feed my sheep.” Timothy was chosen by God to labor in the Word.
There are no exceptions. If you are a born-again child of God, then you are in the war. You may be AWOL (absent without leave) and not doing your duty, but you are still in the war. You may not be fighting and are contributing to the problem, but the war is all around you.
In the following Scripture, Romans 8:28, the word called is the Greek word kletos and means “invitation.” Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

I agree with legendary former New York detective Frank Serpico, “I'm not anti-American, I'm anti-corruption!” (The Alex Jones Show; interview - July 4, 2012). Yes Sir, that's the same way I feel. Frank Serpico also made the eye-opening statement, “A police officer today is nothing more than an armed tax collector.” An enlightening article published by retired police officer, John A. Eterno titled, “Policing By The Numbers” reveals the massive corruption in America's police departments today. He said that the U.S. Constitution has been thrown out the window when it comes to traffic stops. Police officers have strict quotas, which if they don't meet, often brings harassment and reduced privileges.
THE pervasive use of stop-and-frisk tactics that have deeply alienated racial and ethnic minorities in New York City is only one symptom of a broader dysfunction in the Police Department. The overwhelming pressure on officers to write summonses, make arrests, stop pedestrians and motorists with little or no justification, and downgrade crime reports reflects the deterioration of effective management under Raymond W. Kelly, the longest-serving police commissioner in the city’s history.
Eighteen years after the start of the much-vaunted CompStat system of data-driven crime fighting, the Police Department — where I served from 1983 to 2004 — has become a top-down, micromanaged bureaucracy in which precinct commanders are pitted against one another and officers are challenged to match or exceed what they did the previous year, month and week. Words like “productivity” are code for quotas. Supervisors must exceed last year’s “productivity” — regardless of community conditions, available budget and personnel, and, most important, the consequences to citizens.
There have always been quotas, but they were rarely enforced to the level that they are today. If an officer was sick or on vacation, for example, many supervisors understood that lower activity would result. If a situation on the street called for a warning, the officer was expected to give one and not give a summons. Taking complaint reports from crime victims was routine and the officer’s judgment was rarely questioned.
The institutional culture that once allowed police officers to use their judgment has dissipated, according to in-depth conversations with current officers that I have conducted as part of my research on policing.
An officer assigned to an “impact zone” — a high-crime area — told me that “the Constitution has been thrown out the window when it comes to stops.” He is given strict daily quotas and asked at the end of his tour about his numbers. An officer who fails to meet the required number for the day is berated (sometimes in front of peers), not allowed time off and given unpalatable work assignments. Nothing is asked about maintaining order, interacting with the community or other kinds of police work.
The result of this “performance culture”: needless summonses for minor violations (putting one’s feet on subway seats, playing chess in a park, failing to wear seat belts) and other quota-driven activity. This does not make for efficient policing.
Asked whether data are fudged, another officer, who prepares his captain for the daily CompStat briefings, says, “there is no way the command can possibly beat last year’s figures without doing so.”
Most seriously, crimes are being downgraded; crime scenes are revisited, and victims called back, expressly so that reports can be revised, and the seriousness of the crime downplayed. It should be no surprise that police manipulation of crime data has been reported in other jurisdictions — Baltimore, New Orleans, even Paris — where the police have emulated New York’s tactics.

A new ad campaign urges people to sign up, telling them, “They make you look good.”Because one out of seven Americans on food stamps is not enough.
CNN Money reported, via FOX Nation:More than one in seven Americans are on food stamps, but the federal government wants even more people to sign up for the safety net program.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has been running radio ads for the past four months encouraging those eligible to enroll. The campaign is targeted at the elderly, working poor, the unemployed and Hispanics.
The department is spending between $2.5 million and $3 million on paid spots, and free public service announcements are also airing. The campaign can be heard in California, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, and the New York metro area.
“Research has shown that many people — particularly underserved seniors, working poor, and legal immigrants — do not understand the requirements of the program,” said Kevin Concannon, a USDA under secretary.
The radio ads, which run through June 30, come amid a bitter partisan fight over the safety net program. Republican lawmakers want to reduce funding for the benefit or turn it into a block grant program, which would also minimize the cost. Democrats, however, are not willing to make major cuts.
