Ephesians 5:18, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.”
The average Christian mistakenly thinks that being filled with the Holy
Spirit means having more of the Spirit given unto them; but that is not
true. You received as much of the Holy Spirit the very moment you were
born-again as you'll ever receive. If you are truly saved, then you HAVE the
Holy Sprit, i.e., the Spirit of Christ dwelling in you. Romans 8:9, “But
ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God
dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of
his.” The problem is emptying ourselves of self.
When the Bible speaks of being filled with the Holy Sprit as a believer; it means first being emptied of our own carnally-minded ambitions, fleshly desires (sinful and unsinful) and worldly attitudes. The only ones who ever went away emptied-handed from Jesus were those who came full of themselves.
If you pretend to be a good Christina, one day you'll become one. I like that statement, because it is very true. You will become what you decide to be around.
The Word of God is not just a book with white pages and black ink; it is quick Hebrews 4:12 proclaims, which means alive and powerful. Amen!!! Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” f
